Protip: How to shoot

I've noticed that a lot of players have had problems with shooting.
Equip a gun and ammo in your backpack when you go out scavenging.
When you're scavenging, equip teh gun by clicking on it on the top left side of the game; it should say something like "Pistol Knife"; I had the pistol and knife with me.
Find your target, and a crosshair should appear on them when you can shoot at them.
Click on the crosshair to go pew-pew.
I think an orange crosshair is a headshot.

N.B. Getting too close to your target will make you unable to shoot; you will either bash them with the butt of the rifle or shank them with your knife.
