No drinking water needed?
Out of all the survivalist aspects in this game, how did the most important real life one get overlooked?

Why don't your characters need drinking water? Water is a lot more important then food. In real life you can survive for over two weeks without food, but only days without water. Yet your characters don't need it at all.

Considering the condition of the house you are staying in, it seems highly unlikely it would still have a functional plumbing system for tap water.

Since we have to build rainwater collectors I guess we can assume there is no tap water. But that too is a game device since it doesn't really rain enough to fulfill the groups needs.

I guess the devs kind of made it so that we eat and drink at the same time except the survivors can go without eating for more then 3 days and that ain't right.

I 100% agree with you, the drinking water we need to live should have been incorporated in the game.

Well. you can look at it this way - by eating those "stews" you're basically ingesting water along with meat (and vegetables which also contain water).

But yeah, I do agree. Having thirst along hunger would be more immersive, plus more challenging. I always have surplus of water, be from water collector, scavenging or trading.

Don't get me wrong, I still love this game. But I can't help be dissapointed that a game that is supposed to all about survivalism left out the single most important resource needed for staying alive.

I would love to see them factor in drinking water with DLC or a sequal. I can imagine times where you get so desperate that you would be forced to drink dirty unfiltered water, which can make you ill (seriously ill, not just slightly).

Also I can imagine having to take drinking water with you on scavaging missions (you are gone a whole night, you would have to have a drink at least once, especially if you expend a lot of energy digging through ruins or running from enemies).

Agreed, its always a bit strange that I build my animal traps before my rainwater collector. ( I do this because I can easily stock up on water later on). They might do this for the sequel. Can't see it coming in a patch.

Well on the Marin, Katia and Arica start, it says how Katia met Arica and Marin in the queue for the water pump, so I'm guessing, although not featured, thats where they get their water from.

If that was the case, then you wouldn't need to build a rainwater collector and stockpile clean water.

you need like 4 liters of water to cook 1 meat into meal for a single person... if they eat that i imagine they are set with water for a day or two XD

I can't imagine Marko bearing 150 liters of water. I think 1 item is rather half a liter.

I've gone for WEEKS without food. I've also read of people going for months with no food. But it's a game and time compression is allowed for the sake of brevity. You have to assume the developers are complete aware of real life needs.

Another unrealistic is that you can carry several hundred gallons of water in your backpack. :) Try doing that some time.

I get it, it's a video game, not a real life simulator. Still, I just can't help but be dissapointed that in a game specifically about survivalism, the developers chose to totally disregard the single most important aspect for surviving.
