If it makes you feel any better, Central Square is almost useless. The Sniper Junction is far superior.

Are you kidding? Central Square is a major trade hub. About the only good thing about sniper Junction is the possibility of getting a scoped rifle. Granted there are other locations where you can trade stuff, but it's always good to have almost everything in one spot.

Sometimes it's several playthroughs before I see CS again. some stories just may not have that location. I don't know.

It depends on which patch you are playing to. Generally those who didn't update are probably those who got the game from somewhere else and haven't seen the fix for it yet.

Central Square has been fixed so there is no more entire dumping of inventory. It is no longer possible to do the whole trading-inventory-chain. You're better off with Sniper Junction and such like basketofseals mention.

I do agree it is also a central hub for trading so you will see all the items you'll possibly want, generally, and just have to pay more or less normal prices for them.

In theory the danger scenarios you'll usually get exclusively are the Supermarket (with the girl in peril) or Sniper Junction (to save the son). The other location is filled with a crowd (the Supermarket gets the scavengers and Sniper Junction remains Central Square).
