Disregarding the individual abilities of the survivors? ... more people are harder to keep fed, though they can better defend the shelter. ;-]
Key survivors include Anton, Katia, Bruno which many feel are OP. Depending on how you play Arica, Roman, Zlata, and Emilia can play important roles too. The 2 best scavengers are Boris and Marko with backpack sizes of 17 and 15 respectively.
Pros of getting all people in are (imo):
More protection (easier to repel raiders)
Being able to rotate scavangers if something happens to the main one
You build things faster since you can give multiple taskas to your survivors
You can always do "side quests" without worries
Con(s):
You'll be dealling with occasional sadness, hunger and sickness/injuries and with addictions as well.
Tbh I really don't see any major reasons why you shouldn't let others in. Yes more people means more micromanagement but once you become comfortable with game and it's mechanics it's not hard. First few days are always the hardest ones. After that I'm sure you'll have more than enough supplies.
Also addictions are best dealth with by simply ignoring them. Because the more you give them they'll just become more addicted (like in real life). I've dealth with addictions (by giving them some smokes or whatever) only when I needed to raise moral.
Only exception where I actually didn't want others to come (and they didn't in my 2 runs) is solo Marko run. That scenario is (again imo) way more easier if you keep only Marko because others will be a burden.
Cveta, Emilia? Arica is good at sneaking if you know precisely where a particular item is but a small backpack makes her unsuitable for general scavenging. Still figuring this awesome game out.
Anton - not worth it
Katia - If youre trading, yes, if youre kill/steal - no
Bruno - large team - yes, small team -no
Arica - big fav for some, not worth it IME
Roman - good stay at home defence, gets a bit mardy sometimes
Zlata - not worth it
Emilia -not worth it
Boris - handy early doors to scavange large hauls
Marko - allround best survivor
Marin - nice to have
Anton is good for rat traps. He catches them faster. Zlata is awesome because of moral boost (plays guitar best) and she's a solid scavanger. Also Katia is decent for killing imo. On more than a few occasions I've cleared (killed) whole locations from marauders with her using stealth kills.
Regarding Cveta and Emilia. I've read that Cveta gives bigger morale boost when helping children and that father on sniper junction. For Emilia, some say that she gets depressed harder. Again not so sure about those 2.
