Empty Shelter: Do boards and reinforced door help?
Does having 3x board-up and/or reinforced door decrease the chance of getting raided while there's nobody home? Or does it decrease the amount of things stolen when raided?

Asking because I'm not sure if I should allocate supplies for that when playing solo and scavenging every night. If it does not help in any way, better not waste anything on it.

Pretty sure the amount of times you'll get raided is fixed. You still get raided with board-ups and alarmed door but have an easier time defending and a much better chance nothing will be stolen.

If you're playing solo, don't leave valuable in your shelter and only bring home what you'll use that day.

On the other hand, if someone does come along to help you, it would be a good idea to be prepared so they can defend on their own. I found with Marko on his own it's easy to gather more than enough supplies to build extras like that.

ETA: Or if you get sick and have to stay home.

Pretty sure the state of your defenses has no effect if no one is there. Similar to how cold your house is when no one is there.

I board up and reinforce the door. There are times where I choose to have Marko stay at home overnight. I don't feel it is too much of a resource drain to do so. With this scenario I build a bed, upgraded stove, 1 rainwater collector, 1 rat trap, 2 upgraded heaters and upgraded metal workshop. I sometimes will build a moonshine set up if I have lots of sugar in the game.

Plus if I get lucky and have another survivor show up they won't be as likely to get injured guarding at night.
