Smaller maps?

Is there a way to play in a smaller shelter? All of the houses I start in are mansions/massive/with many rooms.

I think all stories have a pre-defined shelter, as well as the days where crime and winter will rise and the day the war will end. So I think no, there's no way to play in a smaller shelter than the one you get in the story.

Pretty cool, actually. Both don’t work perfectly in every way, but playable. And so nice for a change of scenery.
