I've seen plenty of sales with heavy discounts of this game on various platforms though, so you can always wait to pick it up for cheap if you're concerned about your outlay.
This next section is more for those who have played it, as I feel it's relevant to the post but I don't want to ruin the run for the OP:
Unfortunately, replaying it even just a second time unearths the gaminess, now that you know what you are doing. Even with hardness mods applied, difficulty ramped up, it's just not the same as the first run.
Nothing can genuinely replace the fear you felt alongside your original crew when scavenging and you could hear faint sounds elsewhere. The uncertainty of another meal can not be replaced. The care you felt for your scout who got shot. The anger you felt towards those who shot him, so your group goes back and finishes them off...
Sadly those emotions go away after the first run. At least for me :(
