How many days can a character go without being fed after being well fed
Im doing the Marko single character story, and to save some food from being stolen, I was thinking of just using it all at once. How many days before he would need to eat again?

If not mistaken, Well Fed --> Normal --> Hungry --> Hungry --> Very Hungry.
I never passed the 1st step of very hungry, so from well fed u got at least 5 days.

the best way to preserve food is actually to wait for the 2nd day of very hungry. Eating then puts you on the first day of hungry, making food only necessary every 3 days without any big penalty. If your food gets stolen either go for more night guards (even with 4 people 2 beds are enough so no one has to sleep at night and you can still have them all rest before the next night) or just cook it up. Once cooked it can't be stolen anymore and you don't have to use it up, it doesn't spoil.

Well there actually is a penalty in Hungry-VeryHungry cycle, if you get any other conditions, you might move slower, and those conditions have less chances to improve by themselves.
When playing a solo Marko, you can afford to eat every other day in Normal-Hungry cycle.

well my bruno atm is sad, tired, very hungry and slightly sick and can still run. Although you are right, on some conditions being just hungry or very hungry is the difference between running and slowly moving. And ofc with the other conditions, but usually its just not that serious and with the leftover food you can get some nice trades to boost you early on already. And if you really need to extra food you can still eat.

And yes, the Marko game food is so plenty that at the end i had him well fed all the time just because i could.

My problem with the Marko story is that I get raided every night because people just waltz right in. Theres no way to prevent it besides Marko staying home, and what's the point of that?

When playing solo Marko, you can spend 100% of your days Well Fed. I actually did that for my game, and besides day 1 when you're clearing your shelter, I ate and ate. He has a funny kind of feel to him because i'd find 2 veggies/2meat, cook up 4 meals, and then the neighbors would come give me 5 veggies. So yeah, I'd cook up as much as I could at once (I think I got 12 once), and realize i can't use the stove till it's gone, so I ate every day so I could use the stove again. :p

It doesn't make any difference. You still need to feed your survivors EVERY other day in order to hover at a constant level in the long term. You're not gonna hover on the verge of death now don't you. So on my games odd days are chow days (except the first day of course). Food is the number one concern in this game (heat is the second, it will hit like a mother...), if you get the feeding cadence right you got 50% of the game done.

Playing a single survivor is definitely a challenge. Raiders only loot form the "our things" list so you shouldn't keep anything there of value (valued items will be nicked first, but you'll lose wood just as well if that's all you have). Food is high value but cooked food doesn't get stolen so use this by cooking in advance everything you can. If you don’t fancy losing a lot to looting you definitely need to plan ahead very, VERY well. Don't scavenge stuff you don't immediately need (don't take anything from the piles and furniture in the shelter either). Clear a path, discover where things are but leave them there and just keep track of where you need to go to get them when the need arise. Sounds insanely difficult? It is :)

ye the Marko game is about only taking what you use up til you have a second survivor, also means sometimes stay at home, chase raiders away with him and then try the next night again.

Yea a lot of your supplies would go into making fuel and cooking all of your food into meals, as they cannot be stolen and leave any excess food where you scavenged it
