Same with killing, even though you can do it like we can in real life it's a no no unless you're in the military or police force. :))
Scaveging and trading are about the only legal things you can do. You can defend yourself of course and some will see your side of things but not all of them.
However, it doesn't affect your guys the same way to kill bad people. They are often armed, but sometimes they are not (and killing them either way is considered the same).
For example I was sneaking through a bandit house (said to be bandits, not assumed) and wasn't having much luck finding anything. I seen already mutilated corpses so it was really obvious the occupants were dangerous and bad. I saw one who was unarmed in a room at a far side of the house, so I decided to rush through the door and beat him down with a crow bar. While picking through the room I found a poster that was said to have everyone ripped off except young girls. So yeah it really painted them as bad. Later I checked the bio for characters and saw one actually thought that it was *good* I killed the guy, as he was a danger to the neighborhood. So just to recap: bad, unarmed, dead = good.
Same goes with theft pretty much. Stealing from a family with a sick old man? That's pretty nasty. Stealing from people who probably aquired everything they have from violent robberies, no issue at all. It's bad to steal from anyone innocent, but it's worse to steal from the needy, such as sick and elderly.
Also to add to that, it actually counts how much you steal and what. I did actually rob the old people, but I didn't take any food or medicine, only junk and a maybe a book or something. It made some feel a little bad, but nothing like another play where I took the medicine and my people got really sad presuming they may die (I went back later and found they did).
So you can make a kid happy by killing someone. Hell yeah.
Boringly enough (since it was a very very good run) I got cease fire event on day 25??? And acording to the wiki that happens if outbreak of crime event starts on day 4? But I had that event on like day 17, so I got literally the shortest time for a game where I had everything except the third metal workshop, I was about to start production of a ton of medical supplies and just sell them or give them to people who needed it :((( Maybe even help the guy who is stuck in the sniper junction? Dont know if I can but maybe
About the ceasefire, you playing Boris/Emilia/Marin? That run ends on day 25.
Yeah Cveta the schoolteacher really hates killing, even bandits. Zlata also doesn't approve murdering bad guys, but her ability is about raising morale so that's better. Katia and Arica actually like punishing the evil, but they can't harm innocents. And Emilia is the most resistant to depression, more so than even Roman. Haven't played as Irina yet, so I don't know about her.
Remember! The kids don't know about the killings. The kids are told that the soldiers were chased away or were scared off. They don't know what actually happened
