The game probably don't recognize the mod files or something. You could try to rename them with simpler prefix (without space) and edit the Mod.list accordingly.

Important: Be sure to disable auto-update because the dlc releasing today will definitely breaks most mods again (all except portrait/scenario mods).

 

If your game hasn't been updated yet, mods still work no matter the version you have. Here's an example of a "converted" Steam mod using the instructions above. Just extract the archive to the Mods folder and the mod should load automatically: Custom Portrait Pack[drive.google.com]

Mods.list should be at the root of the Mods folder (e.g. This War of Mine\Mods\Mods.list). That mod will work even after today's update since it's a simple portrait mod.

Open the workshop in your web browser, select character content on the right panel to filter only portrait mods, click on a portrait you want then just download the picture since it's the same as the portrait you get in-game if you had subscribed to it.

I guess EGS lacked analog of "steam workshop", so we can't use some mods trying to install them directly to the game... EGS is a piece of free sh1t
