It is entirely possible that the save files are different between Epic and Steam, so this may not be useful advice. I also expect that any distributor-based perks, awards, or cards, etc. will not be transferable at all.
I presume that you could give this a try without any difficulty or consequence to your game on Epic. I also presume that you will be able to tell whether it works pretty readily.
Good luck...
Steam: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\This War of Mine
Epic: C:\Program Files\Epic Games\ThisWarOfMine
Rather, the game saves are stored at their own locations within their respective applications' data directories, according to:

The actual folders that contain the game saves are (again may differ slightly):
EPIC: C:\Users\_username_\AppData\Roaming\11bitstudios\This War Of Mine\iPhoneDefUser
STEAM: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\186292576\282070\remote
Note: Some files may be hidden so make sure you can see hidden files in your file explorer
Theoretically, the process should be as follows:
1) Deactivate cloud sync in both the Epic version of the game, and the Steam version of the game. Wait for savefiles to be recreated locally, if necessary (in my case, I played for an in-game day, just be sure)
2) Navigate to both folders above and create a backup, just in case (e.g. in zip format) of each of the folders 'remote' and 'iPhoneDefUser', so that you can revert the process if necessary.
3) Overwrite the contents in the Steam folder (remote) with those from the Epic folder (iPhoneDefUser). I mean the unzipped folders, obviously.
4) Launch the game in Steam and test by continuing your playthrough.
5) Reactivate the cloud syncs.
I tried the method above (with some differences, because I was learning how to do it on the go) and I could launch my previous saves from the Epic version from the Steam version. At the moment I did it, I automatically got a couple of achievements/trophies in Steam (that I had earned from my epic save). This confirms that the gamesave load has been sccessful. I haven't checked whether these trophies are all of those that should be there, but it seems to be right.
This procedure is useful if, for instance, you have add-ons/DLCs in your Steam instance of the game that you don't own for the Epic instance (this may happen to some users because there were some recent giveaways of this game), so that you can keep playing where you left at (if you started with your Epic instance), while at the same time being able to access the Stories DLCs from the Steam instance. You can technically play those DLCs too if you own them, but in this way everything seems more tidy, since you will not have to be switching from Epic to Steam and back to play all of the contents.
I hope that some day these platforms (and others, such as GOG, EA, Origin, Ubisoft, etc) will allow us users to seamlessly share game saves across platforms if you own the game in two or more of them. Ideally they would also offer discounts up to 100% if you own a game on one platform and you want to play it on another (Sony PlayStation, for instance). However, I don't have high hopes for that happenning anytime soon.
Hopefully this helps somebody. This method may apply to many other games as well; you just have to find the corresponding folders at pcgamingwiki, savegamelocation, or any similar website/online database.
