How do I get Malik to eat?

I'm in the Last Broadcast, but I don't have any materials to build a stove, and Malik can't go down the stiars to get food. How do I get get him to eat????? :(

Feed him through Esma, make her do all the stuff on lower levels and malik work on the garden, rain collector, a trap once you can craft it at his floor and the radio. Esma is the character that will be doing all work in other floors

That's the direction I was trying to go, but there are no materials to build a stove for cooking (or anything else) and he keeps starving. :/

If you are way into the game I recommed Stacking materials to build the stove, If not remake the game and start over building stove first. Then feed characters every 2 days since hungry.

In addition, if you have already scavenged seeral zones and kinda know what to expect, make a "safe/cheap loot route" which means to loot from where you can get lots of materials early on at a cheap danger/tool use. Don't waste materials in tools except for the pickeaxe which should be top priority alongside the stove and the weapon workshop for crafting a crowbar (Can craft a knife for early soldier deaths but don't recommed it since you can use weapon parts for sawblades and get more loot from certain areas in one trip).

I had no problem building a stove with the available materials--as Drink says, you have to get to it early. Also, you can build the stove on the same level as Malik so he can feed himself. Not only that, the son-of-a-gun can cook, too. (he can also build and swing the pickaxe, he just can't handle stairs.)
