What's the most difficult scenario? Or... is there some kind of 'nuzlocke'?
I've completed a few of the different group scenarios and it's gotten to the point where I've basically got a handle on the game. I think the most difficult ones I've done so far is when Marko starts out on his own and the one I just did with Christo & Iskra. Even then it starts to be a cakewalk around Day 14 or something like that. What's the most difficult scenario that other people have had to play through? (no spoilers please)

Or if it's all just about the same, how about this... which group has the most scumbags that doesn't care about stealing and killing? Sure that might be an easier campaign, but it might be more exciting.

And has anyone tried any kind of self-imposed rules (besides mods) to make the game more challenging?

Marko is difficult because you start alone and cant prote t the shelter when scavenging which leans you have to take ressources with you or accept anything you left at the shelter can be stolen by raiders

Anton, Cveta is hard too as they have low backpack space and are pretty weak againt ennemies.

Except Emilia, who is less affectes, most characters will get sad if you do scumbags actions too often.

As for self imposed rules you can try: vegetarian: not allowed to eat meat. Or no weapons at all, even crowbar and hatchet. Or no water gathered at yhe shelter, only what you find outside.

For sure, I'll try Anton & Cveta next then. As for Marko solo run, I think I found an exploit for that actually, I'll hide it as a spoiler:

just don't collect everything at once. It seems that people only steal what you have in 'Our Stuff' so if you leave some food and other items in their piles they won't get stolen and you can grab them when you need them

Check out the spoiler text and let me know if that's true, but essentially getting robbed every night while playing the Marko solo run became a non-issue.

Yes that's true for the solo run. But you will also have to take what you scavenge the night before if you dont want it to be stolen for valuables like meds or food, and collect only the materials you need for your next upgrade or new equipment.

Do you have the DLC Fading Embers (ep. 3) ? Try it. It's a little harder than most of the original ones. Although an old man + a child will be more difficulty.

I've got the DLC. Just started Ep. 1 and it's definitely been a lot more interesting than the classic runs I've played so far. Speaking of, do you know if it's possible to have a story run and a classic run at the same time if I want to switch between them?

yes, its possible to play both parallel

I found the Boris/Emilia/Marin with the map that starts out with the ruined block of flats and the decrepit squat to be tricky.

The decrepit squat has no meds, and the meds at the ruined block of flats are behind 2 sawblades so you can't get them immediately. The dice-rolls on the rates of sickness seem to be almost independent of how you manage the heater (to the point where I suspect its bugged), and if all the other dice rolls go against you (when Franko comes, what he carries, what other guests you get) then it can spiral down by about day 8 or 9 unless you manage it carefully.

Everything is manageable with enough resources, even with weak and low inventory characters like cveta and anton. You can just kill hostile npcs, grab their weapon and other valuable and trade a lot of stuff from franko.

Boris/emilia/marin scenario is indeed challenging bcoz of the preset condition, but since you get a 17-slot inventory character and a handyman trait makes the challenge last only a few days.

So, either play the DLC, challenge yourself with some strict rules, or find a mod that can make more challenging custom scenario (i.e. day 2 harsh winter with one character severely ill and the other one severely wounded)

Wow, I am finding the Emilia, Zleta and the child (kat something) is the hardest scenario, even when I got the OP Marko to join because everyone was wounded and I was no where near building the filtering station for the hooch. The single person start are easy, just slow as I only loot for one specific item and have a cache at one of the early spots (yep, I take stuff out of my hideout and put it at another location). However, after a few days you will have to take risks when leaving items.

Back to the Emilia, Z and child scenario, it seems we are getting raided every day and I had to start rotating guards because they kept getting wounded. By the time winter becomes an issue, my main issue is the kid being depressed. Raids really plays hard on her happiness, even with Z there giving a bonus.

You're given a heartless lawyer that also seemingly the worst guard in the game, but you also get a great mood booster with decent backpack and decent guard proficiency. The child can also act as a cheap source of mood booster every other day by constantly make her well fed.

So what i did is, i used Zlata to scavenge on day 1 and on any day after u get raid. And used Emilia to kill and/ steal on day 2 or on any day that u presumably will get raid while make zlata guard the shelter. There should be some location neutral npc that you can kill and/ rob, esp with Force final cut option checked

Also its worth noting that you can make Franko to visit you on Morning Day 2 and every three days after that, just restart the game if he didnt show up. So its also important to bring back any meds on day 1 scavenge.

This way, on day 5 you should be able to board up all three holes, make a hatchet and even build reinforced door (or day 6 at most if u lack something). Then build the stove and heater afterward. You should be able to handle things easily after that.

P.S Sorry if my english is bad
