First time you can hear the shots, when you go back, and think you are safe, blam!!!
Yes, on the first visit he's shooting constantly because of the wounded guy near the fountain. However on subsequent visits you should be able to bait the sniper into firing by standing very close to the edge of a cover. But there seems to be something wrong now, because there's no indication that the sniper is firing or not, which makes it incredibly difficult to time his shots, when running from cover to cover.
Very annoying indeed.
Wait!!! I had a problem in that if a non-starting player used a shovel it was fine, but I had to un-equip players that joined up at the shelter after day 1 to get them to actually use the shelter. My starting person didn't get shot, but someone who joined later was nearly killed. I wonder if that's some kine of a link.
Anyone else having non-starter characters not notice that they can use shovels with them when they scavenge?
I have had that shovel bug. If you click on the shovel in backpack inventory unequip then reequp it, it should sort it.
Not for me. It affected my original characters. I didn't even take the fourth person in. But that's just the shovel bug. I completed this playthrough without even going to sniper junction, so never experience an issue with it.
I restarted second visit to Junction multiple times to try to figure it out, but I'm not having much luck. What I observed seems to fit "no visual or audible clues about sniper fire unless you actually get shot" hypothesis the most.
