Refused the reward after helping someone

Sometimes our neighbor needed help like saving one of their family from collapsed building, or two childern begging for foods and medicines. After we helping them, our neighbor gave us something for paying us back.

What happened if we refused their reward? Are they gonna mad at us, or they'll grateful because we wanted to keep their item for themself?

We can refuse the reward? o.o I though only the task itself.

That Nenand Family. The mom gave us 10 coffees and the dialogue option show Yes or No. I just wondering what happend if we choose No.... (Actually i'm too afraid to choose No, so i asked here)

Interesting question, i see no reason to decline since storage is not limited in this game :)

I tried refusing the reward with one of the NPCs before and they just gave me a sort of slightly insulted comment and left. Have to refuse twice to make them go away. I didn't notice any changes to the overall game or the ending remarks. Was a long time ago so I don't have anything more specific for you sorry, but I'm pretty certain literally nothing happens except you miss out on some supplies.

Oh my. I never tought they just left and gave an insulted comment to us. And that's definitely really bad
Ok, i get it now. Don't choose the dialogue options when it needs to be choosen twice. That's not a wise choice. Thank you for the answer, btw.

Yup, I was hoping for some kind of bonus or thank you or even just an "are you sure you don't need it?" But nope I definitely remembered them being insulted that I didn't accept. Maybe they really wanted to just lighten their bags haha...

They have no use for coffee, it was a stash for deceased family member IIRC :) And they don't want to just throw it out. So it's a natural reaction.
