So sick of daily raids
And I don't know that there's anything I can do about it. I'm on day 17, patched all the holes, reinforced door, knives for everyone, always put two guys on guard duty - AND I GET RAIDED ALMOST EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. For the past 8 days it's been every single night. There isn't even a crime wave. I just don't get it. The message tells me I've been raided and says I should post more guards. Well, I only have two guys left once my scavenger leaves and they're both guarding. So how am I supposed to post more guards? On the positive side they rarely ever take anything but I always have wounded. And, why is it that if I'm able to fend off the raiders most nights that I never get any stuff off of them?

Because of this incessant barrage of attacks, both my guys have been wounded for many many days now. I don't think there are enough bandages in the game to sustain them. And I'm just not at the point where I can it's feasible for me to constantly craft them either. I'm really working on getting them some armor but other than that I'm really at a loss here. Any tips or things I may be missing?

What weapons do you have? Knives, Hatchets, Guns? It's not uncommon to get raided close to everyday but provided you have decent weapons you shouldn't be seeing any injuries...

Get better weapons like assault rifles and shotguns.

I have knives. I haven't been able to find the required part for shotgun and ARs. Also, I had read that they're not really worth it and that knives were good enough to fend off the raiders. See, the problem isn't really fending them off it's the fact that it happens virtually every night. There is no chance to rest my guys during the night and I'm not sure if resting during the day (while bandaged) has the same healing effect. At least it doesn't seem to be as effective. I guess having better weapons might let them avoid being injured?

Getting better weapons will prevent them from being injured. There's a reason people say the winner of a knife fight goes to the hospital.

Attack bandits and soldiers and take their guns. You can get the upper hand by attacking from dark alcoves; using a melee weapon this way is often an instant kill.

There doesn't seem to be any reason to post guards once you have a fully patched home with a reinforced door. I've had no issue defending my hideout with everyone sleeping, so you may as well let your guards sleep for a chance at recovering from their wounds.

Another tip, if you have access to the hospital, and you don't desperately need to scavenge that night. You can send one of your survivors at wounded or worse (or sick) to have a nurse treat them for free.

Also, remember that not all survivors are equal at defending. Those that are better at combat tend to be more effective, and while I'm not certain, wounded guards are probably much less effective too (which is probably what your problem is). Sending out your best scavenger may not always be the best choice if you have horrible guards (people like Cveta, Anton, Katia, Zlata).

tell me about it and my characters are always well fed and well supplied but bruno is a weak cry baby and wont stop being depressed after i kill some thugs bruno needs to go hes useless I agree the everyday raids are getting to be too much maybe add the ability to have a shootout with the bad guys and kill them off so they dont mess with you as much the more heavily armed I am the more they attack and i also see the door trader having most of the inventory that is stolen in his possesion can i rob this trader becuase he obviously has my stuff probably setting the raids against me so that he can sell me my own stuff at a markup.
Also something absolutly needs to change with this depressing music on loop thats makes you want to ♥♥♥ like make the radio able to play music to bolster spirits or something the radio is just for show at this point why isnt there a cb raidio option for attracting traders and survivors also why cant the stove be a heater as well? Also why cant the characters talk casually to eachother instead of only when they need reassurance (p.s when talking to depressed characters its like pulling teeth trying to get anyone other than zlata to fix thier mental booboos for characters that have lived hard lives they sure do cry alot about the place and making them survive 18 days really supposed to be that hard).
Also why cant we get as many of these so called aid drops more frequently in real life non profit organizations deliver tons of supplies each day to victims and survivors in one game there was 1 count em ONE aid supply drop and it wasnt even giving to us it had to be pilfered.
Sorry for making everyones eyes bleed with my ♥♥♥♥♥♥ punctuation

Is it really that hard to put periods at least like every 30 words.

Thanks for the tips guys. I ended up finding an AR and then Roman showed up so I raided the military outpost. After that each of my guys had an AR and they never got injured again. Roman is so OP, he practically wins the game for you as soon as you raid the MO.

You seem pretty unlucky to have serious raids on day 17. As far as I remember several months ago when I played the game, you could get by without guns + patched holes as long as it's not a crime wave.
Axz Jan 4, 2017 @ 8:14pm
I don't know if it applies to you, but if you're playing on "write my own story" then the raids seem to start off high and get even higher, not in frequency but in potency. I've been being attacked by "armed bandits who meant buisness" (one of the highest -if not THE highest- strength a bandit attack can have) resulting in mutipal injuires as soon as day 8 (the difficulty is set to meduim).

But playing normally I never got raided daily, sometimes every other day but once I got the boards and door done and had at least 1 gun for each person staying overnight I didn't see many attacks even during a crime wave. What few I did see never got anything or injured anyone, I only ever had 4 people and 1 of them would be out scavenging all night so I only needed 3 guns.

Some people are also better at defending, if you're playing "write your own story" it'd be a good idea to have at least 1 police officer, they have the "familiar with guns" trait and with a good gun and maxed defences they could probably hold most heavy attacks alone (although having a 2nd gaurd can't hurt if you can spare it).

Best advice I can give to the original poster is better weapons. I know you are fixated on the regularity of the raids, but understand that if you have weak defense, raiders with firearms will note that and return more frequently. I noticed that when I left firearms with my defenders, and defended a few recurrent attacks, their frequency decreased.

Also, to whoever is whining about Bruno in the replies, needs to realize he is quite an asset. With an upgraded stove and Bruno, your 2 animal traps can easily feed your 3 person team. His reduced use of water to prepare food means you can setup 2 rain collectors and trade surplus potable water. He is very sensitive though. Bruno, Cveta, and Marin.

Wasn't bruno an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that never cared about morals?
Whenever you kill someone for something he seems to carry on pretty easily

same thing with me. Day 14 to Day 18 every night always is a mess. My characters got wounded, already have 2 shotguns + 1 kevlar + 1 Assrifle. Wow game? I keep doing ALT+F4 to restart and hoping for the smallest impact

Generally you want to make sure every person that stays has some weapon. (shovel, crowbar, axe, knife, gun)

There are 4 attack types: low, moderate, high, extreme.

I never took damage during crime outbreak if:
1) Full security
2) 1 guard
3) Everyone that stayed had a gun (typically use 4-6 ammo per night)

if you don't have 2 guns, you should probably have 2 guards during crime outbreak.
Who ever is saying that a knife is good enough, is OBVIOUSLY not knowing wtf he is talking about :D
