See, living proof cheating is BAD for a game. Learn a lesson from above. Cheaters never win they always lose. :)
That's a good idea. I was actually heading over to the fighter last time to space walk to the fighter and when I got closer the fighter woke up and docked. Now I gotta figure out how CODEA works.
So here is the answer to the actual post: "How to Cheat?"
As stated before "Thereshallbewings" only enables the script editor. As you mention it i will assume you know how to do that.
At this point you ether need to write your own scripts, or get a script package from someone who knows how, and has already done so.
I recomend searching for Cycrows cheat package.
Whatever you use it needs to be installed before you try to activate it obviously.
If you get the zip or rar version it should contain two direcories scripts and t. These need to be coppied into the x3:terran conflict directory. Important to note you need both scripts holds the commands, t holds the interface text. It may ask to overwrite so be carful to check that you have the right version before you say yes.
if your script editor is active all you need to do is go to it under Personal>Advanced>Global Commands.
Open the Scrpt Editor and run Reinit Script Cache.
If you did everything right you will have a new bind option under Options>Controls>Interface, to bind a key to "Cheat menu".
- Saving up 100M to setup a small fleet and turning around and they are gone.
- Buying a new freight ship and running to 10 stations trying to outfit the necessary bits and pieces to get it serviceable for CAG and jumping.
- 2M on newly customized fighter which beats itself to death inside a dock.
- Ships flying into asteroids because they wait till the last minute to maneuver.
- Station killed rapidly by impossibly small group of tiny fighters but when I attack a station, I need 20 minutes and my trigger finger hurts.
I largely use the scripts to fix things where the game gut punches me with something stupid and to stop wasting my nights just trying to wrangle up simple stuff. I guess I don't see a huge difference in giving myself some credits and gear to get going early in the game and following a max-money step by step guide to building just the right set of stations to do the same. The latter is just clicking more buttons to get there as fast as possible.
I don't insistently cheat, but I did make a few scripts that outfit a freighter with software / jump / and e-cells and that take the right amount of money out. That beats spending 10 minutes docking and flying it around to different stations to try and dig up shields that nobody ever has and weapons that are always low in stock. I don't find that part all that fun.
Once my economy is going I don't mess with cheating credits. It's fairly easy to keep the money coming in. Again though, if the game just flat robs me of an M1, TL, or nice M6, I don't feel bad replacing those credits.
Last time I tried to get through the hub mission legit. That's when I stopped playing. Got bored trying to manage that goat-rope of logistics. This time, I'll have no compunction about cheating that a bit.
Use cheats to do everything and yes, the game will be a bore in a hurry. Use it judiciously to make it less of a time-suck actually makes it a little more fun to me.
I make my own scripts though.
takes away the feeling of you doing it.
It's not that hard but takes longer to play without.
But then again Up to YOU.
You download the script editor and make new codes in it
specially suited for you. You find explaneitions on YouTube
looks like the limit of ships there is full. Then they wont land. And the bigger and slower ships take time....
Nothing is perfect anywhere
And it's not fun if you can build the best ships from day 1
So true. And if new carefull cheat might help you in situations veterans awoyd. A new player don't know the smart moves etc...
So when new Thereshallbewings commands might be propper if carefully used
It's easier than you think because many commands you make yourselves.
People seems to forget how it was when they started and only sees what they manage
So careful use can be smart if needed
This gameplay is so long so restarts might be a long road..
It's very differen't how players sees the game. It's 1player so if you
wanna spend 100+ hours or cheat it's def. up to you
Listen to advises but don't do as others say because it's in
human nature to controll others...
As you see in the chat that only few give advices to new players but lots wanna say don't cheat etc...
It's because people don't look at the date on a topic when it's found by a search engine.
I always cheat, and it's always makes a game better. And that's the primary reason i like X3 more than EVE or Elite Dangerous in which i can't set my own game rules...
Put the game aside and tell yourself you finished it. No time wasted :)
