Worth $300?
Is this game worth $300? It's a $300 game and I don't know if it's worth three hundred dollars.

Maybe you don't have to buy everything all at once and at full price? tough to imagine I know.

Is this a different dollar?
It's on sale atm, for 200$ for everything on Steam.
But you can get significantly lower outside Steam.

I've gotten 900+ hrs from this game. It's been worth 300 bucks so far. 3 bucks an hour compared to a movie without food/drink at like 10-15 for an hour and a half. So arguably yes it's worth 300 dollars.

Base game is great. Throw in Utopia as only DLC that is a 'must have'. That is around $22 bucks total (current sale). The base game has only gotten better with each DLC, not worse. They always add in free updates and parts of the new DLC stuff to base game. The base game itself is massive and a very complete experience.

Ive been playing it for 4 years, always picking up the dlcs when they release. So 200-300 spent in a span of 4 years and 1.200+ hours. Definitely worth it

Worth is an extremely subjective concept, depending not in the least by how much of a disposable income you have available. As such you're the only one that can decide if it's worth it or not.

It is a great game, plenty of people have thousands of hours on it so for them it was definitely worth it; at the same time, many people really did not like the game and have stopped playing it well before the 100 hours mark.

Best advice would be to look around for some gameplay video online and if you like what you see buy the base game and a couple of DLC; eventually if you do enjoy the game you can buy the rest (or even just those DLC that do appeal to you).

Ultimately its your call. There are Sales Constantly
- it does get a bit redundant when some people complain about the DLC packs price. To me its not that big of a deal, I just get them slowly over time. The Base Game with Utopia and Federations is more than enough for 3-5 play throughs from start to end game imo.

I have over 350 hours on the game, Started running it earlier this Summer, just bought my 10th DLC pack, Spend hours and hours enjoying the crazy random things that happen and creating new species and play throughs.

I will say that the "Strategy" portion of the game can get pretty Deep. This is considered a 4x Strategy game so it requires us to use our brains. If your Only looking for Explosions and the highest quality graphics or a High Paced Experience- imo this probably isn't for you.

If your up for an intense strategy game that leaves you thinking and working to problem solve, This is a Good Home for you.

No.

If you're big brained enough to need all the DLC as a beginner, then yea.

Otherwise this topic is trolling.

PDX should really have an alternative with subscription fee like they have with HOI4. At least maybe these kind of threads ends.

Please please please don't give them any ideas about subscriptions.

I have nearly 3,600 hours of playtime, so i'm gonna go with "yes"

You may want to buy the all-DLC package on sale, though (that's what sales are for)
As there's always a chance to not enjoy a game, regardless of other people's playtime.

No. Cost if way out of bounds. They print these dlc like there is no tommorow.

No.

He's saying "buy the base game, give it a try, then make your own decision on whether or not the DLC is worth the added money".
