Prescripted Empires Are Missing
As said in the title. When I'm starting a new game I do not see any of the pre-scripted empires that are supposed to be there.

I tried with and without mods, checked integrity to no avail. It is not just the vanilla races either; new modded races also do not appear. Which is the real problem as it prevents me from using some mods.

Please help I'm baffled!?!?!

I tried out a mod that was supposed to give extra ethic and civic points when starting out. It does this by editing the files under \Stellaris\common\defines, the civic and ethic points.

It didn't actually seem to work though and disabling the mod didn't change to files back. I had to rest set the numbers manually (or you could delete the files and have steam do a verification and redownload.)

The point is, something that edits the empire base numbers (like adding points) that the game requires you to spend all the points in before continuing on will cause all the pre-made empires to not show up because they they are not valid anymore.
To put it another way, any mod that will prevent you from creating a "vanilla like" empire will cause the vanilla Empires to become invalid and disappear.

Explain prescripted
Do you mean your created ones and set to force spawn or the Pdx created ones(e.g. Tzynn Empire).?
If the latter: they have a chance to appear, however do not have to. Randomly generated ones may appear instead.
The former shouldnt be possible, check if force spawn is actually turned on.

I mean the pre-made empires (by paradox or modders) that are supposed to show up on the left to choose from when you are creating a new game.

The ones paradox made never show up ingame. To make them show up, edit them then save them right away and force them to spawn.

I'm not talking about empires spawning in game. I mean the pre-made ones to choose as player when setting up a game!

If checking file integrity did nothing try doing full uninstall and removing all game related leftovers then re-dl it.
Maybe check the PDX forums as well.

Yes, the selection of default space empires do not spawn. You must edit them then save them for them to be able to spawn.

i've seen some of the premade empires spawn in various games i started. on an average sized galaxy with maybe a dozen empires, usually 1-2 will be from the list of the premade empires.

the human united nations and commonwealth are the most obvious if they show up, but i've also had others from that list in various games. seems to be pretty random, though. i've also had games where none of them were used.

The op is not talking about them spawning in the game, they're saying that they are not appearing in the empire selection screen when starting a new game

For the record, in my games they do spawn, without any edits being made.

Humans will occassionally spawn, but the others do not. If they do, that's news to me as afaik they aren't supposed to.

Also, ty Elementus for explaining. I did not understand, obviously.

Thank you man, thank you. You rekindled my hope for humanity :steammocking:

The others occasionally spawn, I have gotten the Kel-Azaan Republic and Scyaldari Confederacy in one game.

Perhaps the prescripted empires text file is set to not appear pre scripted empires
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
