The Big Plant Suggestion Thread!

So with the upcoming update, Playful Barbara said that she really wanted to know what types of plants the community wanted to see added, so I thought it would be nice to see what you guys thoughts are! So this is gonna be the thread where we all suggest new plants to add in the game!

Please note, this is not for block suggestions, this is for plants exclusively. Farm-able or not, shaped however you like, fictional or not, I wanna hear your thoughts! Please add enough detail for us to be able to get an idea of what it looks like without looking it up, OR a link we can click on!

I'd really love to see more farmable plants. Maybe carrots, beans, peppers...
Maybe also fruit trees like apple trees? You can make the fruits drop on the floor the same way rimecones drop.

I'd also love to see bigger mushrooms like maybe two blocks tall. Like bigger version of the red mushrooms. I love mushrooms.

I'd like plantable flowers to grow and harvest - especially sunflowers that process or bake to give sunflower seeds which can be used in food items

As for me, I'd like the harvests re-balanced for all plants, they give so little yield, and the food costs so much, its simply not worth it to grow anything.

Hope you're ready for this... I went critical, heh.

All of these suggestions are for freeform shaped plants, like the weeds or tundra flowers.

Plain leafy plants, broad and thinner leafed, undergrowth, variegated colored leaves etc... fully rotatable to make bushes or trees. I used green painted canvas flowers to help make grape vines, but they weren't ideal. Ferns, definitely.

Hanging plants and a hanging planter/basket display item... with the option to have just the edge slots with the hanging plants going over the side. The planter shouldn't be hugely visible when filled, just maybe the underside and the suspending chains, like irl. The hanging plants would be shaped so that the leaves and flowers are upright with part that goes around and down over the side of the planter... lobelia looks good:

Tropical plants and flowers: big broad leaves, like the Swiss Cheese Plant. Bird of Paradise flower (bottom two items in the web page linked below):

A leafy top to put on the bamboo, like the middle plant here:

Currently, I put plain reeds ontop of a stack of vines to imitate free-standing plants, like water weeds, it looks more natural than the flat vine top, but doesn't really fit. Also it could be rotated and placed on the vine bottom for actual hanging vines.

Underwater plants and seaweeds... for example:

Slightly off topic but...how about bone meal as an alternative fertilizer for plants. Or maybe for certain special new plants!!!

Feed me Seymour!!! A carnivorous plants that can be planted as a defensive hedge or obstacle. Maybe it attacks (just use corruption type effect with some animation) certain animals as well as players.

Hmmm...how about weeds that attack desirable plants? Either random PvE events sprouting or as PvP action. For PvP that bone meal fertilizer idea could come into play again.

Specialty wood harvesting trees... from saplings that have been Processed.

Basically, yes one can plant saplings that grow trees to harvest wood from, the problem is, to not be wasteful one gets only +/- 50 wood blocks for +/- 200 leaves blocks from one sapling.

So if we could put the sapling in the processor to make it grow say +/- 200 wood blocks for +/- 50 leaves blocks... it would be much better for harvesting wood.

I've been trying to grow my own trees to not de-forest the world in search for wood for building... but at this rate I'm still not getting enough wood and filling chest after chest full of 25 stacks of 999 blocks of leaves for a handful of wood blocks...

Now I'm sure that someone will say that there's ways of growing bigger trees.... that still A. leaves me with more leaves ( pun intended ) since bigger trees mean bigger amounts of leaves B. Odds are big trees don't grow.

I've tried even with fertilizer and plenty of water to grow "mega trees" but most times then not I've gotten a 2x or at most a 3x tree with one or more saplings fallow. And even when they do grow 3x that just means 3x more leaves... I have enough fuel for my Forges to last 5 lifetimes.

Just a thought.

Jumm... It would be cool if they added the dragon fruit to the Jungle biome and Strawberrys for the Autum biome.
The ''soaringfreedom'' idea of juice sound great.
