[Updated 09.05.17] SteamOS and OSX versions released
Hello folks,

some of you already noticed this has been going on. I'm relieved to finally be able to make this port public after over a year.

If you have any problems playing on the above platforms, please open a thread, stating your operating system and relevant error messages.

Also, many thanks to Ali Rastegar for preparing the OSX build of the engine.

These ports have a few additional perks not available on Windows:
  • Steam Overlay and related functionality such as screenshots
  • Quest log can be navigated using the mouse, and text isn't cut off
  • Alt tabbing to desktop is painless, as monitor resolution is never changed in fullscreen
  • Any keyboard keys can be used as bindings in the F1 menu

OSX: ~/Library/Application Support/dancingdragon/skyborn/

Update 27.02.16

Fixed system cursor sometimes not being hidden

Update 31.03.16

Fixed gamepad hotplugging on Linux

Update 27.07.16

Added achievement support

Update 09.05.17

Fixed missing map texture bug on certain macOS Intel laptops

Will the non Steam versions be getting Linux/Mac support?

Edit: Picked the game up here, and the Linux port is running as well as the original did, from what I recall, in WIndows 7. Very nice work!

I believe this is the plan, however the main developers are extremely busy with their new game atm. so it might take a while.

Does it support fullscreen?

BTW, it doesn't have the SteamOS icon / system requirements on the front page so people won't know about this port unless they search the forum.

Yeah, it defaults to fullscreen, but it never changes your display resolution, so you can easily tab between other stuff on your desktop.

The SteamOS icon thing should be fixed now, I had noticed it too but thought it was a Steam caching issue. Just right now realized that it was my own fault haha.

I'm glad it runs fullscreen!

But I just bought it but it doesn't install anything for me. I tried restarting Steam, validating, etc. No beta to opt into either. Can you check out if something is messed up on the backend now that the icon is fixed? Heh.

No, fixing the store page shouldn't have affected anything on the Steamworks side. What happens if you try launching the game? Does it even show as installed (non-transparent name in library)?

It showed it's installed (instantly - no actual download) and lets me try to Play but it would just say Missing Executable. That was yesterday, though.

Right now I am working and I installed it on my work PC. It downloaded and plays fine here... I will try again on my gaming PC tonight.

OK, so my gaming PC still wasn't installing the game, but I got it sorted out. In case this affects anyone else, here's what I did.

I use the latest Steam beta client, in Big Picture mode, on my gaming PC, and it would act like it installed the game, but had not downloaded anything. Verifying the game files did nothing. I went into Desktop mode, and tried installing there - same thing. But, when I went into Properties and verified the game files from there, it worked... Seems to be a bug perhaps with Steam Big Picture's verify files functionality.

Glad you got it working :)

Oh, this is so awesome! You have made such an awesome game, I played it on Windows and loved it and now that I'm exclusively on Ubuntu I will give it another play. Thank you so much, Ancu! :8bitheart: :8bitheart: :8bitheart:

EDIT: Works wonderfully on Linux. Heck, even better for some odd reason. The Steam interface did not work on Windows but it does know. Also, now I'm able to take screenshots directly from Steam, whereas on Windows pressing F12 wasn't of use. Again, thanks so much, dev!

No achievements or trading cards here :/ (Ubuntu 14.04, bought during latest Steam Sale, so recent install)
The game is great so far though!
