First you compare Dynasty Warriors to Dark Souls now you're comparing it to Just Cause.

I don't get it.

Just Cause on PC was neutered/crap compared to the 360 version. It was basically the Xbox1 version in high resolution, no controller support and didn't even run well at all.

Musou Orochi Z has a similar options screen. That is the Advanced options, the resolution is set in the menu before it.

Am I the only who takes "some" kind of pleasure in having the game's framerate dip like mad? Whenever the game slows down, I feel as though I'm doing something so insaely powerful and crazy that I'm breaking the game.

I use to feel the same way, but it gets kinda old real fast when you're on a large scale battle map and you end up warping in the air or worse. Older DW games had some pretty bad slow-down and it broke immersion for me.

I would advise getting a good pair of speakers and making the base as deep as possible. Slamming enemies makes the feeling much more satisfying. And the cheesy male voice actors come off as extra campy.

Every time Cao Cao shows up the PS2 knows to slideshow. Half of my time spent on Chi Bi was moving through several yards of blue soldiers and fight a five minute boss.

Hopefully, it won't turn out like Deadly Premonition.

turn skip frame off in DW7 option and there you go, 60fps solid all the time, in 1080p.

and yes you can change resolution in DW8 too up to 1080p or more but it's more like dark souls 1, you can change res but you won't get better texture.
there is a benchmark demo for DW8 or SM7 in japanese, it's 180mb, download it and test it youself. btw you need japanese language files installed on your pc to able to run it.

not true, PS4 version of DW8 suffers from performance issues. the game targeted 30fps, but it drops under 30fps a lot. my friend have both PS3 and PS4 version of the game, he says PS3 runs smooth 30fps with minor drops here and there but PS4 version has a lot more drop than it's PS3 version and graphics between PS3 and PS4 version are not noticeable in game but it's noticeable in cut scenes.

ok, i tried that.
there is two options on the launcher:
1.(left one) for medium quality with 720p resolution
2.(second from left) for low quality with 720p resolution

there is not high & ultra settings or ability to change resolution in the benchmark, but it will be on the full release. this benchmark only meets minimum requarments of the game. it runs 60fps all the time for me on both that said it's not high or ultra. but it's better than PS3 version, that i can say.

Careful, I've been hearing a lot of frame rate complaints about the Vita version, also I've seen people mention it's missing some DLC that it was supposed to recieve, you might want to look into it.

omg... Stop Complaining so much people. Enjoy the fact that they're bringing it to the PC. I mean come on, it's a Full DW game with XL and the Original one of 8 coming to the PC, and all you worry about are graphics? Resolution? ................... That tells me you are no true fan and that you have doubts for the PC. I mean, when's the last time we got a whole full DW game for the PC? 6 didn't come with XL, and I'm pretty sure 4 didn't either... >____< If you want to complain so much, then maybe Koei should just keep it exclusive for Japan, and say screw USA/EUR. Be happy that they're being nice enough to give this to us.......
