How can they justify the pricing?
I was really excited for this game when it was announced. Although the price was high I was still going to buy it until I discovered there was no online multiplayer. How can they possibly justify the price when they've removed multiplayer which was originally in the console versions?

No, you didn't manage to read the title. It's about how KOEI could possibly think that the price they are selling it for is okay. What is going on in KOEI's mind.

I did read the title. In fact have you read the rest of this post? He's basically asking how do they justify charging 50$ when online is missing? And it's pretty clear that he doesn't wanna buy it at this price anymore, actually, it's more than just a question, it's also a satment that he thinks the price is not okay.
Which you've defended in the last part of your post by saying the online is mostly broken on consoles anyways and local co op is just as good. Implying it's still still okay for them to think 50$ is a fair price since local MP does the job.

You just spilled out your excuses/justification/explanation trying to make it sound like that there is a logical explaination behind their decision, other than Koei just being a lazy, incompetent greedy company trying to make quick cash off this game. But no, it had all to do with them being unexperienced, them having a hard time with steam and then local co op being just as much fun, so that's why they thought it was okay to want 50$ for it :)

If you're smart you can find this game for half price, just saying. That's actually what led me here to check out the state of things.
they do not need to justify anything. they price it and you decide.

As a general rule
Koei completely sucks at

Porting games to PC
Taking advantage of the internet
Supporting their products.

Those are not necessarily mutually exclusive, you know.

Nevertheless, what's the point in assuming the developer's intention is pointless other then creating exhausting anger all around? Or are you trying to create a common enemy? Suppose that we all agree that Koei is the greedy devils, what are you going to do about it? Because if this is getting somewhere, I'm all on board.

I could actually get the Steam version for about £15.
Either buy a key from other various online retail outlets or wait 7 months. This game will be 9.99 come the Winter Sales event.
$50 for a game that originally was $100 dollars, $60 for Dw8, and $40 for Dw8EL. That's half off. Is it a ripoff if you have it already on a console? Yes, but then again why are you buying it again? No mutliplayer when it said mutliplayer online at first false advertising? Yes, or a simple mistake which happens occasionally on steam, also pricing bugs appear as well. But to say it's a complete ripoff for a purchase. Ummm most $60 games i've played that have single player and local co-op i spend maybe 20 hours max playing, this game is going to keep me going away passed that. Ripoff? No. For a game that runs completely fine on my computer and far better then the past 3 Dw titles ive played on consoles, i think it's cheap.

My friend and I were really excited to coop this. We were devastated when we found out it had no online. We don't live close enough to play local coop and singleplayer just isn't the same! :(

Ditto, exactly the same happened to me, we were like, is it out yet? is out yet? And then, BAM!, no online coop! What a downer!

I was going to buy both separate for PS3 and was looking at around £50-60. So this price is perfect. I reckon they'll add Co-Op at some point. It's still on the page (aswell as Local Co-Op now).

The problem is that they don't have faith in PC since Yaiba sold as ♥♥♥♥ (on console too, but it's their only game), so thats why they've given PC another chance with this title to see how many are interested in their games. If this sells reasonably, I'm sure that the next installment will utilize Steamworks for MP on PC.

Also, this is actually the seventh game in the Shin Sangokumusou (Dynasty Warriors hack-n-slash) series, and except for the same setting, Romance of the Three Kingdoms is nothing like Dynasty Warriors.

I'd say pricing was definitely the issue with Yaiba. I refused to buy it because it was so overpriced. £49.99? Were they high? >_>
It cost £39.99 on consoles day 1. (with many retailers selling as low as £33) Why the PC version was 50% more expensive than you could buy on console, I have no idea, but console games don't cost £50 here and PC games definitely do not cost that much.

I'm indifferent on this price though. For Europe, day 1 prices on big releases like this are usually bad. Typically more expensive than console game releases. However you can easily buy registration codes elsewhere that are cheaper (from legitimate retailers too, not those shady sites)
I'm considering buying this even though I have it on PS4 already lol. Can get for £25 (it's priced at £39.99 on steam) which is a fair price for how much content the game offers imo.
For the sheer amount of content included, and the amount of fun I'm having with this title, I honestly feel like I ripped them off by only paying $49.99 for this game.

Did you enjoy the yellow turban rebellion for the 999999th time?

Quite simple actually, I am not buying this game at full price.
