Steam account ban = rockstar ban?

Hello,
My steam account was banned due to me putting a "funny" picture as my avatar for 15 years. I was wondering can I still play with my Rockstar account if I buy gta V on a new steam account? I know this might be a stupid question but I want to be sure before spending money on GTA V.

The Steam & R* accounts are linked, and that's a permanent status; you can't "just" unlink or re-link either account to another, you'd need the help of R* support for that.

Which also brings me to... why bother? As far as I know Steam bans only affect the Steam community, but not your ability to play games.

So you're saying it might be possible to relink R* account to a new Steam account with the right help from R* support? I'll take that. I need this because the steam ban has completely blocked me from playing any online games.

Put your judgement aside. I got a STEAM community ban for putting on an innappropriate avatar. Yep, for 15 years. It was not game specific since I didn't cheat. Steam just went out of hand and banned my account for putting on a half-nude (I made the mistake in the heat of passion, Jimbo)

Your previous acc was linked to steam , if you want to play again you need to purchase the game again.

The odds of having your steam acc banned from a picture is .... Well basically nonexistent.
