Merryweather is literally a plot armor

Remember back in story mode when at the end they lost their license to operate in the US? Well, they appeared in online as enemies for years (that was excused because it was implied they illegally continued their operations) up until San Andreas Mercenaries update where they are finished off for good (according to the storyline). And what do we have now? In the latest update they are back as regular enemies as if the San Andreas Mercenaries storyline never happened

I just want to see if anyone else found this weird, because the truth is firstly that R* doesn't want to create new factions and secondly that the gta online storyline as a whole is full of plot holes

R* never cared about storylines and continuation in the first place, so this shouldn't be much of a surprise. I mean... new players get invited to Mirror Park ASAP so that they can meet up with Lester and discuss the casino heist. Even if they haven't even unlocked Lester yet in the first place!

Speaking of who'm... Lester has officially retired with the release of the new DLC, yet he still calls me every time I log on to discuss the old-gen heists.

Also... the option to call Merryweather to provide some backup never left your phone either.

Reminds me of the over privileged that have their parents, pay for them to go through pretend'O college, so they can be pretend'O smart and write more horrible pretend'O stories without proof reading.

Hearing someone trying to play the violin made from an old chalkboard would sound better than anything written into the poor story structure currently.

You're not the only one to notice. Rockstar has no shame. They don't even try to hide it anymore because they got comfortable with people accepting any droll POS they throw at them. The OG creators are gone. The OG talent is gone. Rockstar is a husk compared to what they once were.

Nothing in this world is free. The cost is your padded play time to keep player retention. Whether you're spending real world money on Shark Cards or investing many hours of your time into grinding in the game, you're not getting anything for free. You might think you are, but you're not. The user data they collect from you and others that think this way is worth far more than a piddly price on supposedly 'free' DLC updates. Selling data is a highly profitable business these days.

Sounds facetious.

R* should clearly hire some forum commentators to do their writing at this point, as nuance is a lost art only to be rarely found in online environments. With luck and enough hires in the applicant pool, one is bound to be able to generate parodic subtleties understood enough by a majority of the masses. Clearly the best writing is that which is best reducted into meme formats. Otherwise, any shots fired are just bound to be over our heads.

Or, start a protest demonstration outside R* Writing Headquarters, maybe knock it up a notch with some civil disobedience. The irony would be delicious. Carry some signs and banners that say "This is how its done". They'll be too busy counting their money from GTA6 pre-sales and won't notice until they have to call out security to escort you from the premises.
