Simeon Question

Playing online, in invite only by myself it that matters.

Background:
I for some reason got a call from Simeon a couple days ago saying he had a car for me and it was mine in a cut scene but I never got that car, what ever wrote it off as a glitch.

I then got a call saying he wanted a car and would text me with details, never texted me. I saw nothing to tell me what car he wanted.

Then while playing I randomly saw a car and though "I like that car, going to steal it" and when I got it I was suddenly told in a popup "Simeon wants this car, get it painted and deliver it" so I painted and delivered it.

Question:
Is that how it's supposed to work? Get a vague call about wanting a car but no details so the first car I steal is the one he wanted? What is the deal?

Yeah every day you have a list of 4 cars that you can steal and deliver 1 to docks for Simeon. Most times that text message is delayed however if you randomly steal wanted car you still get wanted level and that pop up. Which happened in your case. Overall those deliveries barely pay so don't waste time really.

Once every RL day players can steal a car for Simeon and deliver it to Terminal (the docks). This rewards various amounts depending on the car, but a player can make 15~22k..

If you're configured for it, Simeon will text you sporadically undeletable texts with the cars he's looking for. If you don't get this text, you will instantly know when you steal one of them as you get 2 stars as soon as your butt hits the driver seat..

Lose the cops, respray the vehicle and drop it off to collect.. Unfortunately Simeon is a selfish pr*%k and only takes.. the most you'll get from him is money and rep.. I'm thinking the call you got about having a car for you was just his way of getting you to come down and check out the 5 cars he has on rotation each week..

How do I configure it? I didn't seem to get that text and I guess I just got lucky that the first and only car I've stolen in days was the right one.

I don't mind the "barely pay". I actually am brand new to GTA Online. I'm one of the rare gamers in the world that never played GTA 5 till about 3 weeks ago. And I'm also one of the rare players that likes to start with nothing and work my way up. Hence why I've not used any of the free stuff from Criminal Enterprises and also why I made a second character, spent the free 1 mil, then deleted the character.

Oh, and in addition: be sure not to bang up the car, because otherwise you'll get paid a lot less ;)
