Exception Code 0xc0000005 Crash
Hey all, I have been fighting with GTA 5 for a few days because it has been crashing every half hour or so ever since the first patch. The error report that windows generates is shown below.

I have already done a full clean reinstall of my video drivers, changed out my RAM, repaired the game (i have the physical copy, not steam version) and a few other fixes that I cannot remember at this point. If anyone has any insight here, please help me. Rockstar has been sitting on my support ticket for a few days now and won't help me, and I have been digging through websites and forums trying to find a fix. While many have the same issue as posted above, the main difference and difficulty for me is that my faulting module is unknown while everyone else has it spelled out for them. Thank you for your time

The 005 always happened to me, when I was throwing grenades on foot, and trying to aim out of a car with a weapon afterwards. As soon as I pressed the right mousebutton, CRASH.

Here is what I did to fix my 005 error.

Delete the following 2 files: [cfg.dat] and [pc_settings.bin] in this Folder:
C:\Users\YOUR-USERNAME\Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V\Profiles\ACCOUNT-CODE\

I did a copy of both files beforehand. You might need to reconfigure your keybindings after that, but I think it is worth it.

Start the game and you should be good to go. The 2 missing files will be recreated. (I don't know how those 2 files will affect your singleplayer saves, since I only play online. But that's why you should make a backup copy of those 2 files)

Here's what finally fixed it for me today, and I also had the 000005 errors:

https://toolslib.net/downloads/viewdownload/1-adwcleaner/

Download, scan and clean.

I had been running malwarebytes, ad-aware, kaspersky, superantispyware and ♥♥♥♥♥, so I thought that some weird malware wasn't the problem, but this one fixed it for me. Took freakin' forever to find a fix.

If it works, spread the word to get more people out of this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mess.

Well, my problem wasn't caused by malware, so yeah :D My game is working now, applying the solution I gave ;) But glad you found your cure.

Deleting the 2 files worked for me. I was wondering if i have to delete these two files everytime i play?
Yikes.EMULECT Apr 30, 2015 @ 10:25am
No. It worked for me, after I deleted them once. Never had a crash since that day. I think it had smth. to do with the landing page settings. Even if you change it back to default manually, there seems to be a problem. Deleting the whole settings file fixed it. Never touch that setting again, tho :P

Sorry, except deleting those 2 files and setting up the landing page, I don't really know how to fix error Exception code: 0xc0000005. Can you tell us something about the error? Like, when does it happen? While driving and pressing the right mouse button? While loading into a mission? Any little detal might help.

@TuxedoDuck for your issue it may just require a reinstall, may be a faulty exe file

Your problem is different. 0xc0000417 is an "unknown software exception" which means windows cannot uniquely identify the cause if the problem. it doesn't know where the fault came from either.

Start with all of the usual stuff:
What are your system specs? Do you meet/exceed the requirements?
Is your OS, all drivers and redistributables up to date?
Is the system and any other firmware up to date?
Any other open running programs?
Any error messages?
What settings are you using? have you tried changing them?
Have you done a game cache integrity check?
removed/reinstalled?
Installed on another PC?

0xc0000417 verify game cache, scan for malware

check your graphic settings, this is why it helps to delete the config
grass setting is causing the trouble lower it to normal.
