The perfect settings for the AMD Radeon R9 270X
Hi there,

these are my recommended settings for everyone who uses an AMD Radeon R9 270X / ASUS Radeon R9 270X or a graphic card which is equal to the AMD Radeon R9 270X / ASUS Radeon R9 270X. The game is running mostly on 60 FPS or higher for me, with a bit lower FPS when driving, but as far as I know that's normal.

In addition to the ASUS Radeon R9 270X which I'm using, I'm also using the Intel Core i5 4460 @ 4x 3.2GHz and 8GB RAM.

You could probably turn some settings lower or higher if you want to, but for me these settings are working very well. The game looks very pleasing and the FPS are great. I hope I helped the most of the people who have an AMD Radeon R9 270X / ASUS Radeon R9 270X or an equal graphic card with these settings.

Regards,

Thanks for these settings! What about advanced graphic options? :)

I didn't change anything there, as far as I know they don't really enchance the game and just drop performance.

How about FXAA. In my opinion MSAA turned off still looks awesome. Have fun dropping your FPS with MSAA.

After some testing, I had to reduce soft shadows from AMD CHS to softest because in some parts of the map I got fps drop. For the rest, these settings are perfect! :)

Well, that may be reasonable! I'm using the ASUS R9 270X which is a bit stronger than the "normal" AMD R9 270X. However I'm also using the latest beta driver which is optimized for GTA V.

How are you able to have textures on high?

I've tried turning everything down and I still can't get past normal?

Is there something special you gotta do?

I'm using same card, windforce 270x, 2gb.

The latest beta AMD-card drivers were really good.. mate went from impossible to run 5 seconds lagspikes to totally fluid.

Is it lagging for you if you turn it to high or does it block you from turning it to high? If it's lagging for you if you turned it to high, it would be weird as the Gigabyte Windforce R9 270X is stronger than my ASUS R9 270X. If it's blocking you from turning to to high, change the first option "Ignore Suggested Limits" to "on".

Got it to work.

Seems weird that you can use more than your memory and not instantly notice slow downs.

I'll give it a good test tomorrow.

Once again, the value is just an estimated value by the game. You can check your actual VRAM usage with a software like MSI Afterburner.
