Missable Cutscenes Guide?
TLDR Version: Is there a listing or guide anywhere saying what story cutscenes can have big missed parts and what characters make the most sense to start them as?

-----

So I'm way late to the party with GTA V. I bought it around launch on consoles but had a lot of things going on and didn't get to fully start playing until recently.

I didn't know (until about a bit ago) about the chance to miss parts of cutscenes. E.g., you can start a scene as Michael and see the whole thing, but if you start it as Trevor, you may miss a good chunk of it.

I understand the immersion idea, but it's not exactly that great. People defend it (I even saw someone online call it "brave" of Rockstar) saying that it's giving you different POVs... But it kind of cheaply isn't. You don't get NEW content from another POV. They simply cut away a piece of the already-existing cutscene and you lose context. So it's not exactly fun.

I'm just trying to see if there may be any listing of missions that can miss big cutscenes and who I should start them as? It makes most sense to start a mission with the character whose name it is (e.g., start an M with Michael). But there are other missions that aren't one of the 3 characters, but they can be started with all 3...

Never heard of what? That certain parts of cutscenes can be missed?

I didn't know about it until I reloaded a save and then looked it up. It was the "Fame or Shame" story mission. I started it with Michael but reloaded because I wanted to do something else with Trevor first. Then I took Trevor to the mission and it didn't show the first few minutes of the cutscene.

I looked it up, and apparently it was intentional as a point-of-view thing from Rockstar. It's just bothersome because I don't know if I'll accidentally miss anything as I keep going.

If it's any consolation, I still enjoyed the storyline regardless of whether or not I missed anything.

Yes, there are quite a few missions like that, where if you show up at said mission start corona with say Trevor, you may have missed an entire 2-3 min conversation between Michael and Franklin, and if you show up at the same mission corona with Franklin, you may have missed a monologue by Michael. now im curious about it to to be honest.

My question is will you see all of the cutscenes when you replay the mission through the menu, or only if you start that mission with the "right" character?

That's a good question. I'm not sure. I would have to find a mission to test it, intentionally pick the "wrong" character and finish it, and then replay afterwards. Hmm, I'll see.
