1. Do the first mission, where you have to steal Sessanta's car from the cop compound. After that missin the list should be available and the cars should spawn as blue dots on the map. I think it's considered as a test, a set up mission to make your Autoshop work actually, like those set up missions in your Nightclub, etc. You can't use the features from the get go after just buying the property. You can freely ignore the rest of the mission board, if you want, but that first mission is a must.
2. Maybe get a friend to play with you, to actually help you, cooperate. If you're doing stuff solo, you're doing stuff too hard for yourself.
3. No answer for this question, I play with mouse & keyboard combo.

exotic car list becomes available after you finish any auto-shop contract first time. i know because i did that myself the other day.

nah he will most likely die once he is inside the prison unless he knows the apartment garage trick which I doubt he does

Complete one of the actual contracts, once you've done that the whole thing gets unlocked, including the exotic car list.

Depends on your capabilities.

I enjoy the bunker raid (taking on Merryweather) and the Union Depository heists the most; lots of firefights and if you keep your cool it's easily done solo. You do need to know how to shake the cops though ;)

Next.. ECU train is "so so" IMO and, oh right: the superdollar deal is also very easy but a little bit time consuming. The trick is to wait for the truck to pass Sandy Shores, then stop it. You'll raid the thing but because you're now close to the city you don't have to bother with too much hostiles. Sometimes I also wait for the ECU train to reach its destination because.. .meh ;)

You can also shoot sideways while driving, it might be easier.

But I have to admit that I sometimes "cheat" during those missions ;) I parked several weaponized vehicles in my shack at Murrieta Heights so when I start the mission I often turn around and grab a better cat first. The Stromberg is ideal when taking on Merryweather during the trip to the city.

Can't comment on the xbox but this game should be fully playable with a controller. I only play using my Steam controller and it works like a charm. Maybe you can check if you can apply some mappings yourself?

I think he is talking about aim-assist and yes it doesn't work with every weapons like Sniper or Minigun.

Bank robbery maybe? You can position your car at the door for fast getaways and you have a window to heal at each bank because nobody comes inside. Those missions are too long for the money they pay, especially with the setups. Alright on double or triple money weeks.

The fastest is the union depository job it also pays the most. Use left exit and the helicopter escape and forget the car. Easy $270,000 at normal payout takes little time to set up - win.
