Connection issues

Something weird started happening today.

I keep getting disconnected 5-10 mins into any session with other players. Strangely, it seems as though my network connection itself seems to be turning off momentarily causing the issue.

This is only happening with GTAV, otherwise my connection works fine, as it has always done.

It worked as normal yesterday, and I've never had this issue before. I've tried the obvious like resetting the router, but because the connection only turns off specifically into a session with other players on here, I think it's something to do with the game.

I haven't changed anything in my security or firewall settings - in fact, I've changed nothing at all, this has seemingly started happening at random.

Any ideas?

It's possible a modder is kicking you from the lobby, or you yourself are using a menu and it's simply causing desync.

I've never used mods on my end, and it's happened with every single different lobby and gamemode/mission I've tried on and off for a few hours now.

Play in a friends only lobby. Google search for public discords for GTA Online. There's a big one that I use.

Happens with friends, and even in invite only sessions.

Still haven't found a fix or a solution online. To summarise:

- My PC intermittently disconnects from my internet network when using GTA Online. I've tried both wireless and wired connections, the outcome is the same. I have tried resetting my router to no avail. This is only happening when playing GTA Online.

- I'm unable to play with any other players as we become disconnected when my connection cuts out. When playing solo, I get error messages telling me that the game can't save, but I don't get kicked as the connection normally returns within a minute or so (then cuts out again maybe 5-10 minutes later).

- I've never installed any mods. I haven't changed any settings on my PC or on my router. GTA Online has worked fine for several years until yesterday.

This might be beyond what steam discussions can do as those disconnects are normally tied to the things you've mentioned.

Is there a specific error you're seeing or is everyone just leaving the lobby all at the exact same moment?

Everyone leaves in a public lobby or when playing on my own I'll get the standard Rockstar network error message. Thank you for your replies, though. I guess I will have to ask R* for help. What confuses me the most is how random this was.
