Can you really not use the cargo bob
to move mission vehicles? Counterfeit cash in this instance.

Like wtf is even the point of the cargo bob at this point?

Am I just glitched up? Or does rockstar just really hate its players?

R* hates fun. Like the cargo plane. You could open its back and put cars into it and then rockstar puts an invisible wall in it so you cant do that anymore...

counterfeit cash? are you sourcing supplies? or trying to waste more delivery dime ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with a cargobob?

I've been able to use the cargobob for a number of various missions/preps/jobs/etc.. there have been a couple of instances where the cargobob just will not hook something.. but in most cases, if a cargobob could hook, the only thing that prevented me from using it was the weight of the vehicle.. ex) Prison Bus during Casino's Vault Keycard prep.. to avoid the long drive with the slow bus, I tried using a cargobob to get it closer but the bus weighed too much for me to really lift and fly with it.. same was the case with the Stockade and Riot..

Now as far as product delivery goes, in most cases when you exit the vehicle you lose the waypoints on your map.. so even if you could lift the delivery vehicle with your cargobob, you'd have to have your next waypoint marked off on your map first or you won't know where to go. Regardless, you'll be spending so much more time trying to set the vehicle down safely, landing the cargobob safely, entering the vehicle to trigger the way point and complete the delivery..

The only time I could see a cargobob being helpful on delivery missions are when it's weapon running insurgents with one delivery point per vehicle, or the semi truck that comprises the full product stock in one drop off delivery.. but I believe these cannot be picked up by the cargobob, and if they can, they're too heavy to lift with any aspect of practicality..

There is literally no possible way it would take me /longer/ with a cargo bob unless I turned off my monitor before I took off and flew blind.

There is no bus or trash truck on the entire planet that weighs more than a tank so that's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ excuse as well.

Every time I start to enjoy myself a little, rockstarts ability to make everything less fun on purpose shines through like a solar flare and ruins it.

Dude, save yourself the hassle, just drive the vehicle to the waypoint. A cargobob is a Pegasus vehicle, unless you stored one in your hangar. Pegasus vehicles are notorious for not spawning close to you, or not spawning at all. Then, you have to hook onto the mission vehicle, which will either work, or not work. If you manage to hook it, then you need to gain altitude in the cargobob. If a vehicle is too heavy (yes different vehicles weigh different) you will be pulled down. When you finally arrive ro the waypoint, you will realize that you wasted more time using a cargo Bob, than driving it yourself.

And God forbid if you have enemy npcs chasing you, chipping away at your cargobobs health.

I have used the cargobob a lot, it's especially useful when doing ceo vehicle exports, when you sell a car in an invite lobby, you just hook on and fly above the npc trying to damage the car. So you can sell the car in perfect condition each time. Same when collecting the vehicles, it's faster and safer and for these missions you don't even have to get out of the heli, you can deliver the cars from the heli so it's clearly this the cargobob was "intended for" way back when it was released. So collect the car with cargo bob, park outside and sell it, hook on and deliver.

It can also be used for freeroam exports at the docks, various prep missions and events. If it's a slow car spawning in paleto bay or something, the cargobob is so much faster than driving. Just get into the car, call the cargobob and drive to the cargobob.

Sadly it has never worked with the old ceo cargo or mc exports, could be because these were released before the cargo bob made it's entrance. Or the anti player department decided it was too ez that way and put a stop to all reason and logic.

Even worse than not being able to use the cargo bob for everything is the fact that they actually removed the possibility to use the bombushka cargo bay. It used to work for mc sell missions, I often used it when getting the 4 bikes to deliver. I had spawn points very close to my factories. So I loaded all 4 bikes in it and flew them all to the center of the city and despawned the plane, then drove the bikes to each point. It was a little glitchy and the bikes bumped into each other and made noise but it worked and I saved something like 10 min on this. So r* decided players exploited this plane by loading cargo in the cargo bay and added the invisible wall.

Another completely outrageous thing that used to work was loading ceo crates in the avenger and fly all of them to the warehouse. If you suicided and dropped the crates inside it would remain in the interior space of the avenger and still be there once at the warehouse. This was called a bug and exploit and was also patched of course. Why? Does it make too much sense to load some crates in a huge plane and fly them all at once? If you have such plane, why wouldn't you be able to? That's what any reasonable person would do irl.

Seriously, why not just give players a proper cargo plane that actually works? A plane that can take any car and some passengers and lock them in place inside without going to an interior space like the avenger, and then fly around freely. Why is this such a no no for r*?Players would love it. I would pay 10M for such plane, I don't care if I ever make the money back, it's fun and saves tedious driving.

As soon as you start a mission then there's a big chance that many options suddenly stop working because that's the only thing R* can think of these days: making things "more challenging" for us by disabling features, at least that's my version of that.

It's lazy "AF" game design.

Does a mission task you to go out to sea? For example the car stealing mission, or finding the yacht in the Agency mission? Well, since the latest update R* blocked access to your Kosatka. You can still call it up (and thus start the countdown) but you can't use it.

Or take nano drones... one of my favorite features in the game: as soon as you start a mission these suddenly become unavailable. Who cares that the only real moments yet are actually useful is when playing missions?

And as you also noticed OP: the cargobob. I can easily call up the Kraken or my other Avista submersible and then use my cargobob to move 'm around. But as soon as you're in a mission while having to move a submersible... oopsie: it no longer works.

Each to their own but this simply convinces me that R* really knows jack "something" about proper mission design. Instead of taking away our toys it would have been a far better idea to check whatever "toy" we are using and anticipate for that. But nope!

bombushka still works, there was just something related to armor or weapons which created this invisible wall, but be careful at the ramp or you instantly destroy your delivery vehicle.

There is also another bug, which instantly destroys the plane, if vehicles in cargobay hit a certain spot at the ramp and vehicles also causing nonstop dmg to each other, while being constantly shaken in the cargo bay, because there is no option to attach them to the vehicle like many mod creators already offered

how it should be done
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRIlLK2HKCY

shows how the vehicles slowly destroy the plane
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvWz0L3__tU

shows which upgrades need to be ignored to use the cargobay at your own risk
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-KlMe0SdUM

so you have to go over there to fivem if you want to lift heavy vehicles
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bdYw-cnWaNo

so invisible wall was pretty much the easiest solution to stop all the complains from users, who lost their delivery vehicles through the usage of these tranport planes
all boils down to lazy coding from rockstars side
