killed with yacht defenses ON

while i was chilling in my yacht i saw a player who came closer to my yacht and then get on one of the dinghys, i thought he couldn't kill me so i started to do thumb on ears on him, then he managed to aim to me and then killed me even though i had yacht defenses on, i don't know if it's a bug of the game or he used modmenu to bypass yacht defenses

probably, but the thing is that usually chetaers could not kill me with yacht defenses on, the only way they manage to kill me is by making me explode, if they try to shoot me from a boat and are near my yacht they can hold the gun but can't aim me, and it's not the first time that happened to me, i also meet another guy who snipekilled me from the beach and said that he couldn't see my yacht while i and anyone else who would come close could, so to him it was like i was just in midair

well he could have been experiecing something called desync where triggers dont go off when they should if you had no problem killing him hes probably ok.

he wasn't lagging

its fine you didn't see him lag, but desync is the most likely cause of this if modders can't normally get around the yacht defenses.

Yacht defenses aren't an iron shield. They're nothing more but AA batteries, so as soon as someone comes for you by boat... nothing happens.

Sure, you can't use your weapons but why assume others can't either? (dingy implies distance, implies..... out of radius)

It protects from bullets fired out of range as well. At least normally.
