I think I'm going crazy?

Is it just me, or do AI civilian cars randomly swerve to get in your way, even doing illegal turns to stop you from passing them? It happens when coming up from behind, as I know from the front they might just try to avoid you and swerve randomly.

Ive seen a clip of a car spawning right in front of someone as they were doing vehicle sell mission. Another video of car driving straight down the highway. Then to proceed to ram into a players car that was next to them. No this wasn't done by a cheater.

I've had NPC cars literally spawn right ontop of me while doing missions. But yeah they'll often intentionally swerve in your direction; especially if you also have NPCs chasing and shooting at you because it makes the other NPCs go nuts.

Not even when chased, they seem to just WANT to get in the way, been like that for a while but I never really got suspicious of it since it doesn't happen TOO often but it's still too often to not be on purpose

If at least they would swerve slowly or use blinkers before, but they seem to accelerate and turn very hard on purpose.

No you aren't going crazy, every car on the road is your enemy. Their only goal is to get in your way.

This broke the game for me because driving in the open world is the main reason I even like GTA to begin with. Whoever came up with this needs to be fired and banned from the industry.

Yes, This is the master answer, i drive in GTA San andres a lot i know it natural, NPC keep crashing NPC on high way every day then starting fighting with shovel or baseball bat, but GTA V is fantastic and it make it work in the city, i really proud of that.

To answer your question, The A.I is set to be a pain when doing missions involving ground vehicles. But not to the extent you have stated. But they are programmed to get in your way
