Need help with GTA Online Cayo Perico sub sonar setup.

I keep dying to Merryweather or run out of time before I get back to the Kosatka.

OK thanks, added as a friend. I keep dying to the helicopters when I get the sonar jammer.

Easiest way is to quick travel nearest the Merryweather test site, then drive your sub the rest of the way there and submerge it nearby. (Set autopilot so it stays submerged.) Change into your scuba gear and swim to and from the Merryweather sub. This way, you don't have to deal with the patrol boats on the way in or the helicopters on the way out.

If you park it close it's like some seconds swim. Probably you did something wrong. You can enter your sub from the bottom too, what shields you from enemy fire. Also longfin is better. Well especially if you have wedge and know how to job warp.

Make sure to bring some vests and snacks, vests help against the damage from the Merryweather weapons and snacks will help you to replenish your health after you took some shots.

just hire a bodyguard and do it with someone, have them sit on a buzzard or any other combat chopper and they cover you

Toreador comes in handy for me as it can be docked inside Kosatka

I’m a bit late but here is what I do, First I would leave it for last (do all other preps first). Fast travel your sub to the test site and drive it there. Using the periscope take out the boats and choppers. Dive it next to the merry weather submarine. Now what I like to do is use the assault shotgun and first person to clear out the guards. There are 3 locations for the sonar jammer, first one being in the bridge, second in the downstairs area, and the final one in the missile area if I am correct. If it is not on the bridge go back to where you came from and take the ladder down. Kill the guards there and search for the sonar jammer in the bottom floor. Also kill the chef guy, he has a knife. Once you leave the sub, swim right back to your sub and you are ready to visit mr Rubio again.
