The auto shop job pays around 20k for a few minutes work while the contract pays about 160k-180k per contract (around 50k-60k if you're not the host) but is overall pretty fun with the tuner car restriction
#1 You get a small discount when tuning your cars because you have your own autoshop now. "Of course" (??) you still can't steal high end cars even though you have your own autoshop now (you don't get a warning anymore, the door simply refuses to open).
#2 The missions / robberies are plain out easy, but... you don't get to use your own cars (you can work around this) and you also don't get to use your own weapons (this is the only thing that makes the missions more difficult).
For me #2 is a huge frustration and why I'm not gonna bother with that nonsense.
The payout is decent, but doing import/export will be a lot more satisfying IMO.
#3 You get to do "custom orders". This is just... weird. You get a car which you need to service ("customize") according to the customer wishlist. Of course... said list is no where to be found so you have to custom the car based on impressions. Give it the same color, give it the overall same looks etc. If you succeed you can make some minor cash, if you add too much changes though you can easily loose 20 - 30k "just like that".
So much fun!
No, if you hope for good payment then this is not the right DLC, keep doing Cayo Perico.
If you hope for fun alternative missions.... the robbery setups can be fun but... IMO it's a frustrating mess that's better avoided.
It's not a money maker like the other Businesses. You could try and Grind it but I just don't think it would ever get anywhere near the top Businesses. But if your a successful GTA5 Player that wants activities that can be done in-Lobby with friends it is maybe the best for that. If you are a GTA5 Car enthusiast it offers a Garage that combines the Beenies upgrades with some of the Arena ones (I.E. the colored head lights) and a well lit place to store 10 of your favorites. Maybe "Servicing Cars" won't make you rich, but if you like to customize Cars it gives you the chance to do it without buying them and get creative. I would have to say I think I could make more with the Import Export in a straight up grind off. The Heist in the Auto Shop CAN be done Solo .. but they are so much easier and doable with a Partner ...
I.E
The First one with the MOC can be done solo with a driver AND shooter it's a snap.
The Second one placing the 6 jammers ... CAN be done Solo or darn near ... but with 2 it's a slam dunk.
The Challenges at the meet ... serious fun for two GTA5 Race nuts that just want to have some fun.
In the end there are many ways now to make money in game ... but there where not a lot of in-lobby things to do that where FUN ... now after you've done the Cayo Heist till your bored with it, your just killing time for your Businesses to produce. You've got 2 of everything and have a good GTA5 $$$ cushion ... the Auto Shop gives you things to do in lobby.
