How do Guard Uniforms work for Cayo Perico Heist?

I've been Googling for info on the guard uniforms but no one seems to know how exactly they work. I tried some dry-runs for Solo Cayo Perico heist, and even though some guard don't react to me when i walk past them in uniform, sometimes one of them will randomly fire upon me and set off the alarm

They only work for the area outside the compound, not in. At best they give you a bit of a timeout when a guard spots you but in the end it's hardly worth the effort, depending on your goal. If your goal is to quickly complete the heist then you have no business outside the compound anyway (apart from your escape of course) :)

They don't work on guards with red cones of vision and after you leave the compound checkpoint area at the end (after the dude notices he was robbed).

It's similar to Casino.
They work until they notice the vault was robbed.

It also gets you discovered before entering the compound if you stay too long inside a guard's cone of vision. And judging from my firsts attemps, looks like the truck driver (when you have to get the truck and this one is moving) also gets alerted if you stay too long behind him closely.

If you get the uniform and the supply truck you can drive into the compound. After your in the disguise is useless, but it will get you in without alerting the guards

The uniforms can fool certain guards/CCTV cams that are in the area you found the uniform in. They do not give you full cover as they can still see through your disguise - not to mention that uniforms do not work for the majority of the guards and especially Rubio's elite guards.

It saves you time to skip scoping the guard uniforms all together. It's better worth the shot to sticky bomb El Rubio's helicopter right at the moment it appears in your HUD (although they might've patched this, so do this at your own risk)
