It is handy for open world setups, but I will say this:
- park it somewhere either somewhat out of the way in case things go really bad
or
- have it close by so as soon as you need it it's basically pointed like a rocket (which it is) in the direction you want to fly off in and escape.
If you don't do either of those, you can get your bike impounded very easily (as you could any other bike) and that can be a huge pain if you rely on it to get things done quickly.
When you steal from the FIB building in setting up for the big con, it's very useful to point your bike away from the building toward a gap in the step railings so as soon as you cross the turnstiles and everyone shoots at you, you can take off, for example.
I love my oppressor mk1, and the best method I have of summoning it is when I'm the president of an MC, you can repeatedly ask for it without travelling a minimum distance.
If you do not have an MC, then what you need to do is (if you have a garage), get in it, use it, and thereafter it will be determined to be your personal vehicle. Then just open up the vehicles option in the interaction menu and ask for your personal vehicle.
If you expect the oppressor mk1 to wreck things the way the mk2 does, just don't. The biggest strength of the bike itself is that it has a learning curve, and is extremely fun and fulfilling to use when you finally figure out how to drive along the faces of buildings and leapfrog from the tops of buildings.
It's greatest strength is your creativity and skill once you've mastered it.
You can eventually upgrade it to use missiles, but if you think you're going to rule a lobby full of mk2s with it, you're in for a huge disappointment. You are going to need the MOC IIRC to get the missile upgrade.
That being said the fun-factor of the mk1 is to my experience thus far unmatched, I have friends in GTA who have Mk2s who are always bugging me to drive mine around because frankly the Mk2 is boring by comparison.
Circling to find a landing spot/building to leap off of, the struggle is real.
Its not available in heists but will work in contact missions.
The base version is great as transportation, but without the homing missile upgrade it barely counts as weaponized.
Rather than get a MOC, you could alternatively upgrade it in an Avenger or Arena Workshop with the Weaponized Vehicle mechanic upgrades. That slot in the MOC is better used for personal vehicle storage, IMO.
It is vastly inferior to the Mk 2 due to being far more difficult (but more fun) to fly, not having countermeasures, not having as good missiles, and having actual realistic consequences when you collide with things. In short, the Mk 1 is exactly what the Oppressor should have remained: a difficult and vulnerable but fast and powerful vehicle. The Mk 2 is and always will be an absolute travesty that should never be forgiven.
That's mk2, bruh
