Don't buy any, buy the car export instead.

This is a better idea, especially for a solo player
how should this be possible? you have to start with crates and after you can make car business!

No you don’t have to buy crates at all if you don’t want to.

The best depends... for the best results you can stick with a small & medium sized warehouse. The advantage of that is that you can continue sourcing crates while the other warehouse is on cooldown.

Beware though: some people claim that you should always buy 3 crates at once, but that's actually not true. It can help you fill up a warehouse faster, sure, but it will also eat away in your profit. The best strategy is to buy 1 crate for the small warehouse & 2 for the medium sized. It will take some time (but then again... if you go back to back you'll have the medium sized filled up halfway when the small one is full), but the advantage is that you'll maximize your profit.

As an added bonus: getting less crates also takes less time, simply because the missions are a lot easier (example: with 3 crates you'll get a 3 star wanted level when dealing with the cops, if you get 1 or 2 crates it'll be 1 or 2 stars). But on that subject: as soon as you reach your warehouse the level is always dropped to 1 regardless.

Crates is simply a better way to get started because you can sell at any time you'd like. And the investment you have to do is minimal at best.

Heck: one sight-seer mission (pays 18k) is already enough to cover the costs for these purchases....

(edit) Forgot to mention... another huge advantage with this setup is that if you fail a sale mission (some can be brutal, like the ones where you need to make airdrops and get attacked by buzzards) then you won't lose everything at once. Even if you lose everything you'd still have your other warehouse and its contents yet if you had bet on a single horse.. "auch".

ALWAYS buy a large special cargo warehouse and ALWAYS source 3 crates (preferably in a solo public session).

What is best is subjective because it all boils down to what you personally can endure doing over and over and over again. For instance I own a crate warehouse, a large one and I found it absolutely fricken mind numbing doing the same missions over and over and over again to fill the bloody thing up. The best for me quickly became the mc businesses along with gunrunning. I buy the supplies and the businesses do their thing without any further work on my part until they are full and ready to sell. While they are filling I am free to do other stuff in my play time such as heists. This is also why the nightclub became a favorite as well, again, nothing needed from me until it's time to sell.

If you are gonna take the plunge, then yeah just buy a large. That way you got options for how much or how little you want to fill it.

Not true.
Medium is best for solo, is what I use.
I think large is when the profit for crates out weights buying 3 at a time but I did a small and honestly it didn't feel worth it compared to I/E + Bunker.

The import export money is very comparable to crate money. Only choose one, whichever one you think is more fun.

This is a better idea, especially for a solo player
Or a gun running bunker.

Bunker is passive import export is active. They are not mutually exclusive since they don’t overlap.

Absolutely true that it is comparable but... I actually do use both. Although I favor sourcing crates myself the import/export missions are a very good alternative to get away from the sometimes repetitive "crate missions".

Though this is probably not the most efficient way to do import/export.
