Why do people destroy cargo? BAN GRIEFERS!
They earn 2k from destroying cargo, it takes the more time and money to destroy the cargo than it takes to mind their own business and do a vip mission or something.
EVERY single time i sell or do anything, i can be in a solo public session and i still get greifed. 1 person joins, spawns next to cargo, not showing up on the player list.. and boom everything gone.

because the game literally tells you to destroy them and makes them a giant red marker on the map.

Its bored griefers or tryhards or just noobs which "game told me to do it", sell with friends or alone, dont risk at full lobbies.

True. Sometimes it feels like Rockstar actively sows disharmony amongst its communities.

As mentioned, i only ever sell in solo public sessions, but they spawn in while i'm mid-mission, usually close to my product and they just go over there and destroy it

That's not a reason to waste your time, money and effort and the other persons time, money and effort because the game notifies that someone is being productive and minding their own business

the thing about it is, until a player actually tries making money that way, there's no indication that it's anything more than a random event.

Agreed!

The game telling you to do something is absolutely not a reason to do it. Clearly everyone who does what the game tells them to should be banned for inconveniencing me!

The whole setup of the game is just ridiculous.. a player spending hours to fill up a warehouse, or spending a lot of money buying crates or whatever if anyone still does that.. then forcing them to drive/fly across the map for 10/20 minutes in the crappiest unarmed vehicles.

Simultaneously alert the entire lobby to this person doing this and incentivising attacking them.
10-20 people with high end military gear, tanks, armored vehicles, armed helicopters, planes, bombers, flying cars and motorcycles, rocket launchers, miniguns versus a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ van.

Even if you get killed by the van driver, you respawn down the road 2 seconds later, over and over and over and over.. you only need to beat him once to ruin potentially hours of his time and effort for some pocket change.

Nobody is gonna get banned for rockstar sanctioned griefing. Learn how to create your own public solo lobby to do business in. If you do business in a heavily populated lobby chances are theres someone in there that has no problem messing with you, so even though what they're doing is rude, you're kind of asking for it.

I wouldn't say, "he's asking for it" but he definitely left himself open to the probability. It's more fun knowing I dont have control over that though. I see no reason to remove myself from it with a solo public session.
I know I sound harsh when I say this but if you make the choice to do business in a full lobby with a lot of random people you don't know, knowing you're gonna have a giant target on your back, its kind of you're own fault if you get your ♥♥♥♥ destroyed.
If you prefer selling or re supplying in full lobbies because of the risk, then thats fine, but most people want to do business in peace, those people should be careful of the lobbies that they do that in.

YES, that!
Also, I know this game isn't supposed to emulate real life but;
How does everyone in town suddenly know that Joe bag-O-doughnuts, is picking up a shipment of glow-sticks for his nightclub?!
Smaller potatoes should be able to fly under the radar until they reach a certain level, at least.

Pretty much my point. You've gotta take responsibility for your own risks and not blame others fully when you lose.
Yeah, especially when its so easy to get an empty lobby. I hold a negative opinion of griefers who destroy products and supplies, but they are well within their rights to do so if given the opportunity as long as they aren't using third party software. They shouldn't be banned. People just need to choose lobbies to do business in wisely or stop ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ when they get their ♥♥♥♥ blown up.

I only stole cargo once and was enough to not bother with it ever again, I mean 2~5k, I'm better off using the time for my own business.

There's no reason to do those objectives besides being an assole, cause you not getting anything in return.

You should read before even answering any topic, as was already said OP was in an empty public session, when an assole connected to the session and destroyed his cargo while he was delivering.

Theyre tryhards not griefers and the game tells them to do that. Quit whining
