Is there a way to be afk online without being kicked?

I want to be afk so my product from my cocaine lockup goes up while I watch YouTube and stuff, so no holding down a button on my keyboard with something heavy. Any ideas?

how about using the steam overlay and use the webbrowser there ? you have 15 minutes before get kicked for afk. If you are tabbing out of the game you have only 1 and a hald minute.

Have secondary game pad like a nostromo running a script that initiates a step foreward every 5 to 10 minutes. No lower than every 5 mintues.

I use a contact mission like "Time To Get Away". First I set spawn point to ceo office and then I find a new lobby to spawn in the office (you can use any appartment as well).

Once spawned I start the job - then move over to the tv, turn on, change view to zoom in, then go afk for as long as I need to.

Two big benefits: no lobby with other players including cheater scum. No daily costs charged...

works. probably the best one to use if you want to avoid daily fees etc.
watching tv at your apartment/office/mc club/garage tv, while in a time-locked mission like "Time to get Away" has become the most popular way since the nightclub update.

You can download a software that can auto press a keyboard key. I don't know what it's called but my friend use that.

works. like ahk or joytokey. one button to auto move forward, one to auto rotate. while in stealth mode you can make pretty little crop circles all night.

Well, one way would be to plug in a controller and use a rubberband on the sticks so that your character keeps walking in a circle.

Put something heavy on shift button - char won't go anywhere but it still prevents you from being kicked

dont know if a shift toggle will work. i cant remember what the default action for shift does.

Awesome, trying it while at work. Did blow up->Arcadius office TV in first person, and did not alt-tab out.

i should of added that if it doesnt work then maybe try turning off "pause on loss of focus" in the settings somewhere.
also i should of noted the other guys who mentioned security cams. they also work but its best to not be signed in as ceo/mc.
all methods of afk will incure daily fees unless you use a time locked contact mission.

better way to do this where you wont pay any buisness running cost is goto your apartment, start a contact mission solo. one of the rockstar ones that only takes a few mins, when the mission starts DO NOT LEAVE THE APARTMENT, instead watch TV and thats it, it will stay like that for as long as you want. last time I did that it was nearly 24 hours, nightclub warehouse was full! cocane, bunker, counterfit factory and weed factory were all full and ready to sell! Once your back you can stop watching TV and go do the mission, blow up the 3/4 cars and it'll put you back in a public lobby

What I do that stll work is to go to your property living room, turn on the tv and raise the phone and get job list app and cancel once in a while some invitations and no matter how you are not kicked.

If you just sit in front of a TV (even with a show running) of course you will have those "13mn before kicked".
You must USE the TV (press E for that).

Step by Step for pus-sy players and brainless ones :

1- move near a sit, near a TV of course (better add that part....)

2- press E to sit down on it.

3- press E when computer propose it for watching TV.

4- press E another time, because strangely sometimes the 1st time did not work well.

5- Now you have a little menu, with some keys to change view, change channel. It's good.

If you reached step 5, congratulations !

You will be able to stay hours afk, except if you were not in passive and a cheater came to throw you outside the house.

You can see television or online shows from your apartment or anyplace that has a computer - simply go watch Republican Space Rangers for example - I did, on the computer in a gas station recently, and no kick took place.

Or as the first replier mentioned that also work but not exactly need to be just with a joystick, you can simply hold something heavy on some specific keybind in your keyboard and leave the game alone.

Indeed, only recently though. I discovered that two weeks ago. That TV thing was patched in mid-June reportedly. Before that it was entirely possible to watch television for am hour or so in a gas station for example. GTA-V is an evolving game.

It worked! Thanks guys! I did get a weird thing where I couldn’t immediately sell my bunker, it would just return to the sell stock screen when I clicked confirm - had to restart.
