v1.0.5 Input and Scoring - Release Notes

Version 1.0.5 is now out, just in time for the weekend!

Input

New system allowing the use of any USB device (controller / wheels). Toggle option to switch between gamepad and other USB device
Custom bindings for all devices
Xbox / PlayStation controllers should work automatically when not toggled onto other USB
Mouse steering option for keyboard & mouse (Toggle in settings)

Race scoring

Fleet race score reset (Previous scores are still stored which we may display later)
New scoring system. Base score for a win/loss is 20/-20 (changes depending on your position in a fleet race). This can scale based of opponent level to a max of +/- 5 from the base score. The previous system allowed scaling to go to zero which was contributing to gaining very little points or none at the top of the leaderboard
Fixed an issue of multiple score updates at the end of a race
Players who quit a match before the end of a race will be penalized -40 points on the leaderboard

Penalties

Fixed ghost boat penalties when a player left a match
Fixed penalties after crossing the finish line
Reduced the time you can cross the start from 5 seconds to 3 seconds
The wind penalty applied to your yacht has been increased to reduce your wind by 30% from 20%

Other

Fixed issue where online race course could be changed by a player
Fixed issue of flying yacht when disconnected
Fixed issue with quick match button double input
Fixed an issue where on some collisions one player could be teleported back to the starting area
Fixed resetting yacht issues in the tutorials
Improvement to loading assets
Small performance improvements
More detailed information on an error where people fail to load a dependant library

To keep you updated on what is coming next, here is some of the tasks we are working on:

Performance improvements
Spectator Camera
Replay save / load
Collisions handling when you are not at fault and ensuring you get less of a disadvantage
E-Series (more information to come!)

Is the scoring system is broken??

Just lost 80 points when a fleet race ended 20 secs after the start..... Very frustrating when you quite often don't get any points for winning a race

It's a free sailing sim game.
Yes it still has a couple of small bugs here and there but its not game braking.
Dev's are very open to feedback, suggestions and bug reports. Big plus.
Lots of fun.
Bottom line, its free just try it. You will enjoy it.
