We tried to stay as close as possible to the real weapon stats and behaviour but of course we needed to apply some overall balancing like slower retrigger values and muzzle speed, etc. to not affect the gameplay fun.
As we implemented the L85A2 we were looking for some weapons which can be used in burst mode. We decided to take the FAMAS, the L85A2 and the SG552 to cover them for each faction.
In BF3, the L85A2 formerly also had burst fire mode as I was looking around for some burst weapons back in the days. I just checked back and it seems they patched the burst out of that weapon (after this weapon was implemented in RWR) for real life authenticity purpose. Probably someone like you complained there as well :D
I hope you don't get mad if we don't in RWR. Even if RWR want to stay away from being an arcade game, we for sure don't want to be tagged as military simulation either ;)
