Offline Co-Op
Hey all! I just thought that Offline Co-op would be amazing, being able to play with my brother on one screen would be awesome.

Since I am not familiar with coding at all, I was wondering if this was even possible.
Maybe there are limitations that I don't know of. All in all, I do not regret this purchase at all, and I want to thank the developers for making one of my all time favourite games !

It's an indie game, which means the developers are working with limited human and financial resources. It's safe to assume that offline co-op would require a significant amount of work, and the devs have probably decided to put their efforts towards including other game features.

Hi Balbino, no we won't add local coop play as beside a technical challenge this wouldn't work fine in terms of gameplay/balancing as you would have a limited sight range on both viewports.
You can play in a house network together though, just not sharing the same computer/screen.

Also as static mentioned, there are a lot of other things we have in mind to be added to the game.

well, In theory it would be tricky but... there are some things out there that allow use of multiple mice/keyboards separately from each other on single computer.
So.. add in second monitor too (they do sell 15 meter HDMI cables so closest TV is possible to hijack)
after that, you would just need to get second person to use second account on same computer and use second steam account to get two copies of RWR running on separate displays/stuff.

downside? all you would save on would be the computer itself and if you spend odd 400 or so, you could already get 2nd computer to run it on it's own.

Also bear in mind that most such software is mostly aimed for desktop/application usage, not game use and most of them cost money and/or are in beta so... I wouldn't actually go out there and try to get it to work.

only reason I'm interested in such is for 2nd K/M for 2nd (or 3rd) screen to use when i'm playing games, no alt tabbing needed, wheeee!!!!

@JackMayol Thanks alot for the response. It would be hard indeed with the limited sight range but since my monitor is huge I thought it wouldn't be a problem. And I understand that not everyone has one, therefore other features would be of way more importance.

Thanks alot for the response and the game !

Having a huge monitor doesn't mean that you will see farer away, thus having a zoomed out view. It's just a different resolution ;)

@JackMayol Firstly, wow, fastest developer response in history :D I thought it worked like Consoles, where bigger screens means it's easier for people to see their part of the screen. And I thought this would work quite well with RWR :P

There are other factors in RWR which would not make it possible to zoom out without making some deeper tweaks in the system because of simulated areas. Those would be visible even though they shouldn't, but I won't go into too much details right now.

Yeah I've played a lot, a while ago, on a LAN line. It's one of the features that brought me to the game, as at the time I didn't have a more reliable internet connection. Played TONS of games on a LAN. Really nice feature. But I understandthis won't work if you've only got one comp in the house.

@Opt_0™ Yes, now that the developer explained it, I understand :P
