And there is documentions out there about the game that people never read before playing a game.
it surely is old but far from good, i played diablo 2 and remember how so many features were frustrating, including this one.
Diablo 3 does a way better job of allowing you to remove gems if you want to, it gives you way more versatility in builds and doesn't disencourage players to continue, for me it's a direct upgrade from d2 to d3 but i can see why it may be a preference from the devs so it could imitate d2 (although the game seems way too easy to be compared with d2, thats why i thought it was unfitting), but if it's not for inspirational points, you SHOULD be able to keep gems if you wanna change them, otherwise it's completely pointless and frustrating, and not even having a warning beforehand is doubling down at this point.
Also, why'd you need to read a review for a feature that's usually there? isn't it unusual to needlessly discard a feature to "make the players think" but the rest of the entire game the player doesn't have to think? That's inconsistency for ya
d3 was a direct downgrade to d2, almost the entire hack and slash community agrees. Casual features absolutely ruin replay value by just handing you things and I am glad this game isn't going down that path.
but this game isn't nearly what d2 is, the only "hardcore" feature in hero siege is the gems removal, literally everything else in this game is a no-brainer just like d3, what are you on about
because they are a part of the economy and need a dump to keep them scarce? These aren't things everyone is supposed to just have tons of. They are supposed to have a cost high enough to make you consider if its a good idea to use it or not.
they are only dumped if they are used incorrectly, just like i did, now i know i'll only use gems when i get a definitive satanic gear, so should be the majority's mindset, so the dumping part barely makes a difference, whether they make a difference in the economy or not also has nothing to do with how they should be changed, if a game mechanic has unnerving flaws an in-game economy will inevitably suffer changes along with it.
