Any way to undo permanent dark event bonuses?
I know they can be countered once they are in development, but in my playthrough, I made the mistake to ignore intel on any country, I was not directly busy with liberating, so there are tons of factories all around and they have made lots of very annoying hp's additions to the enemy forces.

Is there any way to undo them, like blasting those factories or whatever?

And are they stackable? Because some enemies have so much HPs (~18-20), that I doubt that this came through only one upgrade/event...

There's no way to remove them normally in the game. There might be some way with console commands but I never checked that. Destroying the facility only removes its research contribution to the avatar project (the number of red dots on top of the facility will be removed from the global project progress).

Weirdly enough on my first completed playthrough on veteran I grinded for like 6 months for more xcom xp and stat missions from resistance ring to try to make a more powerful final mission team only to realize I was effectively gaining power slower than the advent because by then there weren't many permanent dark events to pool from so they gained a ton of +hp.

Blow up the base that spawned them.

All dark events - the ones that give enemy buffs, at least - are always tied to a hidden enemy research facility somewhere. Things like "UFO hunting" and "more faceless" don't, but the +1 HP, special ammo, etc, are always linked to an enemy facility that spawned when the event was announced.

If you've made contact with the region that facility is located in then you can search around for a while and reveal it on the map. Once revealed it can be attacked. Win the mission and the dark event is removed. Sometimes you can even spot the location before the event even triggers, right after it was announced, if you already have contact with the area. But even if it doesn't reveal itself right away it's still there, hidden away, and just needs to be sniffed out & nuked.

Unless there is a big mechanics change between LW2 and LWOTC (my answer was about LWOTC),I think you are mixing some concepts or terminology here. Or maybe I'm just getting really hung up on the term "facility".

Alien facilities are fixed in space and if you discover them via a 5 intel cost research from an item recovered from separate missions they become visible on the map and attackable whenever you wish like lib5 missions. Those facilities have nothing to do with dark events. They contribute research to the avatar project.

While dark events are under preparation (usually 2-3 per supply drop interval), they are tied to a guerrila ops to allow the player to counter the dark events. But you can only counter them before they take effect. Once they are in effect, you can't remove them. My interpretation from the OP was the +1 hp events were already in effect.

While some of the dark events guerrila ops missions are supposed to spawn only in player-contacted regions, others can spawn anywhere. So it's realistically not possible to counter all of them.

Thankfully their timer from spawn time is pretty long so even in a contacted region that you shut down due to high strength, you have a decent chance to discover the guerrila ops mission with even just 2 personnel on intel and everyone else on hidding.

If you have a LOT of people doing intel in each sector, you can usually stop the dark events. They're usually countered by a capture/kill VIP mission. I have 2 squads set up for that, shinobi and sharpshooter.

Unfortunately, once they're enabled, there's no way to take dark events away.

Ah, yes... I forgot: I'm using a mod that adds a resistance job type called "Facility Hunt" which, AFAIK, will spawn target facilities for what are normally permanent Dark Events (i.e. they'll still spawn after the fact), I've noticed enemy bonuses seem to mysteriously vanish after nuking a few of them like this. Of course this mission only works when used in regions that are already liberated, and unlike regular Intel interception these facilities have defenses that rival Advent HQs, so it's not exactly an easy solution.

If it makes you feel any better not all enemy units have the bonuses applied to them. In fact most of them don't, aside from the HP bonuses.

Also having 7 haven personnel on intel will usually detect even the hardest dark events well in advance, along with everything else. Doesn't seem to get any better after 7 though.
