So there is a way around having the launcher not break into the game. Could you give me a little more detail please?
They're probably setting-up a scam. If they were an actual developer, they'd have a special tag by their username.
It's different if it was another user trying to help out but, as TheNiTrex pointed, they should have an identifier that shows they're an official developer/employee. When they impersonate officials, you should be more wary.
kinda funny cause I already said that I fixed it. Mostly. Just if the update can't load, task manager the 2k launcher.
Uhmm, I don't think steam would have the legal right to recode or redirect a company's product.

Fully agree - unnecessary, unuseful, not working peace of crap with misleading message forced me to try various solutions up to reinstall.
