What is max squad size for this game?
I personally like max 8, to much would make turns take to long and will let you care less about characters who die.

If it can't be 8, i hope at least it will be 6 like in xcom(1).

Without mods, and excepting special missions, the largest squad size is 6.

I never saw more than 7 characters on the players side from the videos I've seen, with the +1 always being some kind of VIP.

Beaglerush showed with a simple INI edit you can have something like 43 soldier on a mission, though it didn't work right. I think he did a 8 soldier edit that loaded right.

The game seems highly modable, even rivaling things like the TES or FO series from Bethesda. To the point where TC's can simply be switched on and off, which is almost unheard of.

It's also worth noting that during certain missions such as Base Defense, you can technically control more than six soldiers at a time. In those cases, more random soldiers from your roster will regularly join the battle every few turns. There is likely an upward limit on how many of them can be on the field at once, but I am not certain what that limit might be.

That's garbage. X-Com Apoc had mutiple squads able to infiltrate an area.

I really don't see the point of having a huge squad size. It would only result in the battles being too easy for there being more enemies to balance out your greater units, which would just put you back to X vs Y amount of enemies once you reduced them.

6 units vs 12 aliens.
12 units vs 24 aliens.

At the end of the day, it's not all that different. Just more chaos and clutter.

But I see the point :) Even if I do like to see in game more story, more meaning, more tactical sense and kind of small fine tuned things. My son's want more big boom, lot's of fire, more shot's taken and in the end even bigger boom. I allways face that in disscussion with my son's for example Just Cause 3.

To be fair, I'm already having thoughts of multiple flying bases, with their own setups, and rangers, and stuff.... drooooooooooool modders, don't let me down. :D:

Larger maps, larger squad sizes, more enemies, leads to different tactics and strategy.

Less is not good in this instance, but the maps would have needed to be bigger in EU/EW for it to actually be useful. Maneuvers are possible in Xenonauts/original xcom/etc because of how large the maps were.
