My first playthrough will be on the difficulty below Legend (forgot the name).
If you struggle too much just watch a couple of streams and learn. I will do streaming and probably take in replays of players to help them out and to see what they need to improve on.
To those saying no ironman because of glitches - dont fool yourself. When EU released hardly anyone lost a savegame. If it is corruptness you think about you can manually extract the savegame every session so your loss is limited.
Commander mode, I think?
But yeah, I wouldn't trust the QA enough to go for an Iron Man campaign right out of the gate. I'll be running a standard campaign (probably on 'Commander" difficulty as well), both to make sure the campaign runs smoothly, and to get a better idea of how all the new mechanics work.
After that I'll throw caution to the wind, and dive into an Iron Man campaign.
EDIT: Who am I kidding. I'll be playing the second I get it. I must stop deluding myself.
Sure it would add to the intesity but it would also lead to losing. And since OP doesn't want to lose his/her first game, Ironman isn't a save bet to take. And for Bronzeman mode, there surely will come a mod, that will make that possible but not in Vanilla as far as I know.
Ok I am sorry but saying just go Legendary/Ironman, when not even 2% of all XCOM EU/EW players were able to finish Impossible without Ironman, is kinda nonsence. Sure if you were one of the few, that could beat it on Impossible, I can understand that perspective but that's about it.
I certainly lost one :/
You know you can always play non ironman but just not cheat. And then when everyone is confident in the game's stability, do your ironman run for the achievement.
