i couldnt think of a mod i would like. I guess mods could be fun but i always fear i will not experience the true game.
Most of those didn't work as they were WOTC. Plenty of times where I thought, well this is dumb, or why did the make it work this way. Most of that stuff was fixed with that QoL collection, so I was looking forward to the WOTC run, in order for those to work properly.
After being close to finishing my first WOTC run, you'd have to pay me to play vanilla again.
I just sorted by most subscriped / popular and got most of the QoL, Fixes & Speed-Ups.
Basically, whenever you feel something is off or feels sluggish, there'll most likely be a mod for it, so add 'em as you go.
Using multiple mods, I recommend the Alternative Launcher from Github so it will help you see duplicated or conflicting mods. It will save a lot of frustration trying to find the two not playing well together and doesnt drop mods in loading like the 2K launcher does.
My mod pack I am running would be about 200 mods, but I did have to consolidate some to make them play well together as some changed the same base file in different places so I am only running what appears to be 134 mods.
QoL mods are primarily what I'm looking for. Are you able to provide me with a list of what you're running?
Alternatively I like the advice of everyone else to play through Vanilla to begin with, I never actually played Vanilla XCOM2 as I went straight into LW2 - logged 770+hrs and still never managed to finish it - so many restarts.
I read there is a LWotC? What's it like? I could only find mods to complement it, not the LWotC mod itself.
Gotcha Again - avoids some accidents
New Target Icons - makes it easier to target correct alien
Blackmarket Usage
Tactical UI Kill counter - but sometimes goes wrong
Hours instead of Days
After that its personal preference: For instance one that give you better solder list and coloured bonds looks nice: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1124175584

There are also lots of solder customisation mods. outfits hairstyles etc. Up to you.
I would not advise mods that change game-play but that's up to you as well.
Wotc: robojumper's Squad Select
Instant Avenger Menus - WotC
Upcoming Events [WotC]
Evac All - WotC
[WOTC] Additional Icons
[WOTC] Detailed Soldier Lists
WotC: "Increase Combat Intelligence" for everyone
Hush Little Chosen
Remove Weapon Upgrades
Stop Wasting My Time - WotC
[WotC] Mod Config Menu
Would recommend a camera mod too.
The installation process is a bit complicated, and the size of the mod naturally makes it incompatible with a lot of other mods that aren't explicitly designed to work with it, so it's not really something we can slide into an existing mod setup.
cant edit previous reply for some reason so here you go
What kind of pool do I need for WotC? I'd like to not run out and have randomly generated characters turn up.
